To remedy not being able to use DBAL style CT laser/light furnature, Optics Planet sells a 9 slot picatinny rail which fits perfectly along the 12 O'clock M-Lock Slots. ( AIM Sports Inc Picatinny M-LOK Rail Section - 9 slot ) and not expensive. Mounted on top, left clearance for mounting equipment along the top.
Pros:
- Price
- Texture
- well made
- Grippy
- rugged material
- Great fit together and tight
Cons:
- Need to purchase Pic rail for top m-lok
- Need to purchase small pic rail for tape switches

I full on expected to struggle installing based on the reviews but it was not hard at all. I partial mounted on barrels but then pushed the front hand guard cap and that did the front for me then I pushed it on and lightly tapped it twice with a rubber hammer and it clicked into place. This thing looks sick and looks good with Hera CQR for a futuristic looking AR

There is no way to directly attach a device which uses M-Lok attachment. The nibs and bumps in areas of the M-lok openings prohibit that. One would need to attach a picatinny rail first which adds weight, cost, and height to the devices while creating another avenue for failure. The M-lok slots at the 10 and 2 O'clock are also a problem but not quite as bad. While I like the appearance and rugged feel this handguard, it would be easier to modify a stock carbine handguard using washers for top mount than using this. So that begs the question, how is this better than the stock handguard exactly if the m-lok sections have such disadvantages ? They act more like vent holes.
Cons:
- M-Lok portions practically useless
- Material is soft, M-lok areas can deform
Best Used for:
- If you dont want to attach furnature

I put these on the first AR I ever owned, a DPMS. I have had this rifle for almost 10 years and had never done any upgrades to it, all that I did was put a red dot on it. I was really thinking about upgrading it to a flattop and removing the A2 front post but after pricing everything out I was just not going to put that much money into a $400 rifle when I already have 3 other flattops. So I went to looking for hand guards because the factory ones are way to big to get a good grip on. I really like these, they lock up good and tight and the way the bottom is rounded a little it lets you get a really good grip. I also like the way they kinda wrap around the front post, and the top is even with the upper receiver. I bought the delta ring tool too just in case I needed it but I ended up not using it. The delta ring is really tight but I was able to pull it done enough by hand to slip the old guards off. Getting these on was a little bit harder because of the way they lock in, but when I finally got them in the right spot and locked up they are very tight and no wobbling whatsoever. For $25 these are great, this is probably the only upgrade this rifle will ever get but it definitely made it nicer to shoot.

So for $30 something is an insanely well made and cool looking handguard. At first, I wasnt sure about the red heatshield, but trust me...it looks really sharp. Took me almost an hour to pop in(my delta ring is HARD to push in). Thought I had a defect and was going to have to sand the retaining lips dow., but sure enough with some gorilla force, the bottom half slid home and everything snapped into place. I love this thing more than my old Magpul: more aggressive look and grip. Strike got this one right!
Pros:
- Economic option, great finish

Out of the package a quick wipe down. Read the directions ( clear and easy ), position the Heat Shield forward angle and push down on the rear…..AND SNAP!!!! It’s on. Shot bout 15 rounds down range. Did not feel the heat as much as I did with out it! Great Heat Shield!!! Highly recommended!!! It’s a little hard to take off for the thorough cleaning but it retains it shape.
Cons:
- A little hard to unsnap off for cleaning

Had an old heavy quad picatinny rail system on one of my uppers. Bought this and it really improved the carry functionality and appearance. Its extremely solid and feels nice in your hands. The contour gives good feedback you your hands as your shouldering to make a shot.
The tough part is this... If you don't have a hand guard tool then be prepared to exercise patience and strength while you are removing the old AND replacing the new.
Pros:
- Quality & Affordable
- Looks & Feels Great
- Cost & Features
