Needed upgrade
This was a needed upgrade to a far-too-slippery buttstock. It has definitely improved the original stock which I love the look of. The new buttpad should be installed on the viper stock out of the box.
Perfect addition to the MOD-1
This is great if you want to add just a bit of LOP to your Strike stock. Also gives you more grip/handling ability over the factory slick plastic stock face. Mates right up to it perfectly.

Strike Industries MOD-1 Stock Rubber Buttpad
This is the 2nd one that I bought. This adds "grip" to the mod-1 buttstock as the stock is made of super slick plastic. Kinda keeps the stock in place rather than slide around. It does not reduce felt recoil.
Would recommend: Yes
Works way better
This makes the stock feel 100% more secure when shouldering the rifle. Would of gave it 5 stars but I feel you shouldn't have to purchase this separately.

Must Have Component
This is a must have for the Mod-1 stock. The stock by itself is a slick plastic. This rubber piece clicks on, and secures at the bottom with a screw. It allows the stock to sit and stay in your shoulder.
I knocked it down one star because it is just a piece of rubber. This will not help absorb any of the recoil. If it had some honeycomb or other shock-absorbing design, then it would have been 5 stars.

much needed buttpad
As some reviewers pointed out, this should have been included with the stock or set up as a package purchase. With out it the stock is a little slippery. It fit perfectly with no installation problems. I do wish the way it hooks at the top engaged a little more because it looks like a hard enough strike in the right direction might pull it off. Other than that it works very well as advertised.

Great addition to the MOD-1 stock!
This rubber buttpad completes the Strike Industries MOD-1 buttstock. It is tactile and makes holding your rifle easier as it limits movement on your shoulder. It will add about a little more than an ounce of weight to the buttstock, but its utility is invaluable when it comes to making steady shots from the shoulder. The other added benefit is that if you stand your rifle up against something for temporary storage, the rubber pad will keep the rifle from slipping on the ground and falling over. Nice addition!

MUST have for the MOD1 Stock
This should really just be part of the MOD1 Stock and not an add on part. Without it the MOD1 stock is just too slippery given the shape of the stock and the hard polymer (it tends to slip off the shoulder as well as slip when the rifle is set against the wall with the butt on a hard floor). I would actually prefer it if this were even a bit 'softer' in order to stay in place a little better, but it's a dramatic improvement over nothing, and IMO a must have if you have the MOD1 stock.

Great upgrade for your butt stock
A must-have for your buttstock. Before I knew about these I was gonna put some spray on flex seal to help with grip but now I don't have to. This buttpad is definitely worth the money, only complaint is there is only one screw that holds it in place but seems like it will be good enough.

Mod1 Stock Buttpad
This is great and easy to install, only bummer is it should definitely come with the stock already, but is a 100% necessary add on. It makes the stock very comfortable. Takes just a minute to install, and adds a nice clean look. Always love the Strike Industries stuff!!
