Most Helpful Positive Review Best Flashlight
I was very excited that Surefire would release a very versatile and powerful flashlight. Running off of a 18650 batter, it produces 1500 lumens of pure white light with concentrated hot spot and ample spill. Switching to (2) 123A still produces 1200 lumens of output, with a barely noticeable dip in ...

Most Helpful Negative Review Terrible quality
Have bought 2 of these and one went out after about 9 months and 2nd one went out after a couple months. On both the LED’s burnt out. Looking at the LED is brown and burnt and puts out no light. Either there is not enough of a heat sink to dissipate the heat or the LED’s they put in these are generi...

Must have light for LEO/Security

by J.S., Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on February 10, 2025
This light is the perfect light for people in law enforcement or security work. Small and compact and puts out a ton of light. Good throw and good spill. I buy these for my team because they are rock solid and give the necessary visibility in dark situations to maximize safety.
Pros:
  • Small, compact
  • Tons of light

Surefire Fury Tactical

by Genex, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on June 14, 2024
I have been collecting surefire flashlights for quite a while. Did I need this flashlight? Probably not. There is something about high lumens that is intoxicating. This flashlight is very bright. I know, you need something to compare it to. Well, I have lost my reference point. It is probably too much light for a great many situations. That's ok. I may need to signal the space station at some point. I think the flashlight has its place for tactical situations where overwhelming brightness can be an advantage. Money well spent I think....although I am certainly biased. Remember, you can never have too many flashlights. -Gene
Pros:
  • SureFire
Cons:
  • can't think of any.
Best Used for:
  • Landing light for a Boing 737.

New fury tactical

by Blueinterceptor, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on May 28, 2024
I’ve been waiting on the revised fury tactical for some time. I had several issues with my early editions of the fury tacticals. To surefire’s credit, they stood behind their product and replaced everyone with another surefire product. When the new fury’s came out I was anxious to get one. The new lights will run for about ten minutes, will get warm, but that’s to be expected. What did happen is the light would have diminished output. Similar to the lower output of the edc2. I contacted surefire itself to see if this was a feature, the reduced output was expected by them as a means to protect the light or the battery. I tried another battery and had the same results. After I let it cool for 10 seconds or so, the output returned to full power but it would repeat the reduced output cycle. I am assuming that this light will have similar issues to the first generation.
I could have gotten a lemon. I’d try another one but not at my expense.
I think this light is better suited as a secondary light or back up.
My opinion is that surefire should reduce the output to 1200 lumens and keep everything else the same.
Pros:
  • Bright output
Cons:
  • Sporadic reduced output
Best Used for:
  • Secondary light

back up duty light

by nick, Verified Owner from IL, United States Written on April 28, 2021
Policy makes this my backup light, but it out performs the full mag light sized pelican in battery life and output both in hotspot and fill. The throw of the hotspot is outstanding as well easily reaching the 100+yards I’ve needed and see great detail at that range.

As for cons it’s a bit pricey but the rechargeable battery and the price point for spare batteries make it well worth it. The second con is more of a user error thing, don’t shine the hot spot on something in your hand...

Sure Lite Fury

by Ttudoc, from AK, United States Written on February 24, 2021
Perfect ratio of power:size. Handy for the truck, tracking in the brush of Deep South Texas or hunting in the alpine of Alaska. Great weight and build. Seems bombproof. I’ve hunted the last ten years in Alaska. Whether it Moose laid up in the muskeg to Dall Sheep and Mountain Goats in the unforgiving rocky alpine, the gear you carry has to be the best. It can save your life.
Pros:
  • bright
  • Rugged build, smooth operation, easy adjustments give fast, clear target acquisition. GREAT price and value.
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • All purpose use

Pros: The flashlight is super bright and compact. The battery lasts a long time. Cons: You have to remove the battery from the flashlight to charge it. Sometimes that can be a hassle. The light is my EDC so I'm a little disappointed in that.

Best handheld light!

by TXRebelSoul, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on June 10, 2018
Wow, this in my opinion is the best handheld light out there! Very bright at 1,500 lumen, I used the 1850 rechargeable battery. I compared it with the streamlight protac hL- x 1000 lumen I had, and the Fury blew it away. Yes, the surefire is 500 more lumen than the streamlight, but even the outside spill of light is very bright with good throw! Overall for home/vehicle/self defense this can’t be beat! The Throw of this light is great for all those applications! Also, as in all surefire products it’s built like a tank!
Pros:
  • bright and compact
  • Build quality is excellent
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Self / home defense
  • Home and personal defense
