Awesome muzzle device for your AR
The SFMB-556-1/2-28 works very well to eliminate muzzle rise. When my brother was shooting my AR with this muzzle device on, I saw zero muzzle rise! I also like the fact that you have options with this muzzle device on your AR to attach suppressors and the Warden blast device.

Very disappointed
I received this muzzle brake showing obvious usage (residue build up inside the corners of the brake and wrench marks), also missing in this package were the wrench and shim/spacers it was supposed to come with. I was excited to have this product in prepping to take a CQB course. I'll be returning...

Solid suppressor mount
This is the second one of this model that I bought. If you have surefire suppressors, you’ll need these muzzle devices to attach them. This particular one is a muscle break so the concussion for people on both sides of you isn’t very pleasant so I would recommend getting a blast warden.
Pros:
- High quaility
Cons:
- None

SF Muzzlebrake
Muzzle brake as described. Ordered for 5/8x24, if you’ve never timed a SF muzzle device there are great informative videos on YouTube explaining the timing/shim charts as they can be intimidating/confusing if this is your first time, they are fairly accurate if you know how to read it, although chart is basically to be used as a rough starting point for your shims.
Pros:
- User Freindly
Cons:
- price
Best Used for:
- larger bore rifles, 30 cal and up

Great muzzle brake and suppressor adapter
Great muzzle brake and suppressor adapter. Ordered 6.8 for my new 6.5 Creedmoor build since it looks like SF discontinued any caliber other than 556 or 762.

Thats what I was looking for!!!
Recently, decided to build an AR15 from scratch. First time I’ve ever built a fully customized rifle, designed around my needs and wants. Everything has been perfect, except for the muzzle. I just could not land on a good muzzle device for this rifle that I felt was a perfect compliment to the build. After spending lots of money and trying at least 10 different devices that were all slightly disappointing, I finally broke down and bought this sure fire and man, that’s what I was looking for! Immediately, I noticed a significant reduction in felt recoil. It’s almost like my 556 is a 22. And I thought it would be really loud… But it wasn’t! Lucky for me I had someone shooting next to me who had a very loud muzzle device, you know, the kind that rattles your organs and just gives you fatigue being close to it. Because of that, I had a real time comparison and can say without a doubt, this is not as loud as I expected it to be. Definitely a pricey,m muzzle device, but you get what you pay for, and sure fire is always good quality! Next time I build or buy another rifle, I’m just gonna automatically get a Surefire!
Pros:
- Everything
Cons:
- none so far
Best Used for:
- Reducing Felt Recoil

Great product. I have 3 now and to me they are the best muzzle breaks on the market for the AR platform.

Surefire 7.62 compensator and suppressor mount
I’ve used these over the years since they were introduced and they perform every time. Compensation level is great.
Pros:
- Precision machining/ durability/ performance
Cons:
- price
Best Used for:
- Control muzzle rise and suppressor attachment
Would recommend: Yes
Precision at its best!
The price is a bit steep but you certainly do get what you pay for. Comes with shims and easy instructions for proper timing for you DIY'ers. Make sure you clean those threads before using rocksett.
The brake does its job and it does it very well. I have to say this is very comparable to the lesser expensive jcomp / king comp with the usability with your warden or for you lucky fellas, suppressors.
I have tested this for the 5.56 and will be getting another one for my 300 as well.
