The light is bright enough but the controls are hard to reach compared to the earlier 870 models and the gripping surface could be textured better. For the price, the ergonomics should be better. Only made for 12 gauge FYI
Looks like a great product. Solid construction. Bought to try to tacticalize my wife's 20 gauge 870. Only fits 12 gauge, had to send it back. Did not specify in add. Although I understand why it's made for12 and not 20. Nice price anyhow, it is very ergonomic

Excellent Addition To 870
The installation couldn't have been any easier and the action of this forend is superior, in my opinion, to the stock forend.
The light and controls are excellent and have not been adversely impacted whatsoever during my trials at the range.
Pricey but then what is your own and your family's safety and security worth to you. Having a reliable light can make all the difference in identifying and addressing a potential threat.

Bright light
Removed the wood forearm with the provided key includied, Very easy and fast with know problems. Replaced with the forend flashlight which was a simple procedure. The 6V light is extremely bright and would blind a bad guy! The action is smooth and the on and off power buttons are easily located making my 870 with a 18" barrel a very effective home defense weapon. Showed my sons, son-in-law and friends and they all were very impressed. Hope I never have to use this setup in defense as it is a very deadly weapon which will stop a assailant in their tracks...

Excellent forend for 870
Surefire got it right with this lighted forend. Well built, easy to use and easy to install. Had it installed in less than 15 minutes. Very bright with a nice beam. The momentary on and brightness functions are nice. Definitely worth the money.

Great product
The forend is easy to install. It is lightweight and durable. The Surefire light is extremely bright. The controls are positioned for easy ooeration. It is the perfect accessory for your patrol shotgun. The Surefire forend also has use for your home defense shotgun.

5 Stars!!! I just ordered a 2nd one for my 590 A1
This forend I picked up for my 870 is great, I watched a lot of youtube and read tons of reviews and was sold on Surefire, so I pulled the trigger. Only down side was the lack of texture on the grip, but I fixed that by adding some skateboard tape and my hand loves it. Adding the tape was no a big deal seeing how its on just about all of my other weapons.
Pros: Light is Super Bright, even on low setting!
Cons: The grip texture could be a little more defined.
