Another excellent product by surefire
I bought this light to put on my cqb carbine. I had been looking at other scout lights by surefire prior to settling on this one. This one actually caught me by surprise; I wasn't aware of it as it is new on the market. My dilemma was that there would be a tradeoff with the amount of lumens and the scenario. Get an ultra with 600 and I run the risk of blinding myself off of white wall if my eyes have adjusted to the dark. If I go standard 200 lumens and I need to take a long shot I don't have as much power. The surefire m600 with intellibeam solves these issues.
They market the adjustme...

Superb defensive light
This is an excellent light for rifles and shotguns used in a mix of indoor and outdoor defense. Price aside, this may be THE best light for that use. The responsive brightness technology is impressive, nearly imperceptible, and really does cut down on blinding yourself indoors. It responds much more smoothly and less noticeably than my older Petzl headlamp; you really need to creep it off a corner to see the spill's brightness as the hotspot stops reflecting.
This light is perfect for use indoors and at medium ranges. No, this isn't a light for razor-sharp target identification at 200yds, and you might not want that blinding bounceback on a gun used indoors. This will easily go from sweeping a room without making you squint, to lighting up a suburban yard or half a city block.
Since it doesn't seem to be noted anywhere official (?), this includes a small spacer that seems to be for pushing the light about 1/8-1/4" away from the mount. This may be to make a little more room for the larger head.

It is what it claims to be.
As my title says; this is everything it claims to be, and not much more...
Bright with a good hot spot, good throw, and enough flood to fill a room. The IntelliBeam function works well. It's quick and even when used on very reflective surfaces you get enough Candela to be uncomfortable to look at.

Weapons Light
I was hesitant when I purchased this light. I wasn't sure how well this light would work. After getting the light I did several test and to my surprise, the light worked very well. The most impressive thing about this light is when moving from room to room and when you shine the light on a white wall you are not blinded by the reflection of the light off the white or bright color wall.

Best of the best!
This Scout light is by far the best weopons light I have owned. The IntelliBeam technology works flawlessly and adjusts to your surroundings quicker than the human eye can detect. I know this because with a quick flash against a wall from shining from a dark room you can notice the circular light shrink slightly. This proves the light is dimming based off of its circumstances. Outside the light illuminates the entire yard. I may soon get the pressure button to attach to my rifle grip for quick on/off accessibility. This product is outstanding and next level tech. Worth the money!

Good light
I would recommend this light as a good tactical solution. The light is bright. The control is positive. Rugged light. My only complaint is that its a little heavy. I would also recommend getting a light switch to mount on your rail. Overall, a very good light.
Pros:
- positive adjustments
- rugged light
Cons:
- a little heavy

Works as described
Choose it as the only light I found as a one light solution. With a narrow hallway and light beige walls in a night time sonario all the way to taking it out in the woods. Research told me I needed to different lights until I found this one. My only question was - would the intelligent beam really work. It automatically adjusts the beam from 100-600 lumens. I can verify that it works incredibly well. The light is perfect in a dark house, in tight spots or large rooms and is not blinding or uncomfortable in any way to the one standing behind it. If you take it out in the woods you have 600 lumens focused on a nice size area. After testing this one I went ahead and ordered another Surefire light for a pistol. I'm equally impressed with it. The Surfire seams to have a superior beam focus area without any flash back as compared to other lights I've used. My opinion is it's one of those things where you have to pay a little bit more but it gives you a significant improvement in function.
Best Used for:
- Inside or out

Surefire makes great products
Like all other Surefire products, this one does not disappoint. I saw it go up on the site and quickly snapped one up. They have been defining what a work light is for decades now. Buy with confidence as they are worth the money.
