I own another Swampfox Raider, which I like a lot. This one also is a winner.
These are the things I like:
- I can co-witness the popup sights on my Springfield Kuna with the low profile mount. My neck would have preferred that I use the included medium mount, but I wanted to be able to use the sights if needed.
- I like that this model doesn't have the Bullet Rise Compensation (BRC) reticle since I wouldn't attempt long shots with a PCC. The simple single dot is perfect for the Kuna. I also have the Raider with the BRC on an AR-15 and I love it on that weapon.
- The glass is so clear. This was made even more obvious since I was also shooting with a Sig Romeo 5 on a different weapon when I used the Raider for the first time. I like my Romeo and have no issues with it. I just think the Raider has superior glass.
- Shake to wake. No need to remember to turn off the optic.
- Windage has nice clean clicks when making adjustments.
- It's a prism, so I can see it clearly with my astigmatism.
- It normally has a good price, but it's a no-brainer when on sale at Optics Planet.
So far, there is nothing I dislike about this optic. This is the one possible con I can think of for some people:
- It's a prism, so it has eye relief. I know this is not a fault of this optic, but some people may not like the eye relief requirement. I prefer having a optic more forward on my weapons for a better field of view, but a prism is much better for me because of my astigmatism. It's a trade ...
