Been leaning toward prism optics lately & purchased this for a 9mm carbine. I have 2 prism optics from PA and this is Very , Very comparable to the PA prism line. I will summarize below. 1) Reticle is slightly larger than the competition. 99% of my shooting is target practice and the marker retic...

Most Helpful Negative Review Waist of money
First off, OpticsPlanet did great, as usual. Never had a complaint with them. This prism, on the other hand, I have an issue. I ordered this for a X95, meaning this would have to transfer to a 1.93” mount. The very first time I transfer the optic to the new mount, the screw holes within this Chines...

Replaced another Prism

by Gooters, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on April 25, 2026
So I replaced the Vortex 3x prism some colleagues and I were discussing Swampfox how they’ve seen the brand but never purchased, and well I decided to try it out. I’ve been to the range 3x since I received this and wow, it’s amazing! Love it, not to mention shipping came extremely fast. i may switch over to primarily Swampfox going forward.

reticle bleed and glint

by mike, from WV, United States Written on April 7, 2026
FYI - The RAIDER and TRIHAWK both suffer from severe "internal bleed" and a noticeable forward light signature. Even with a KillFlash installed, the illumination washes out the field of view and creates a visible glow from the front of the optic. The unpowered etched reticle is fine, and the field of view and clarity are exceptional, but the illumination tech is poor for signature management.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • can be used as a flashlight, not for duty use.
Best Used for:
  • Daytime shooting or hunting

Swamp fox Raider 1X

by JeremyV, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on March 29, 2026
This optic truest beat my expectations by a lot. The ability to adjust a diopter and get a near perfect image of the reticle and the target I assumed was impossible with my eyes. Astigmatism. But this sight made me a believer. With the T2 foot print, I would pick this for a revolver hunting optic all day. I do wish it was possible to build a prism with 3-5x and long eye relief for a scout rifle or handgun. I like this better than my EoTech for image quality
Pros:
  • Great reticle, diopter adj, everything you need in the box!
Cons:
  • none!
Best Used for:
  • PCC, CQB or on a pistol.

Swamp Fox Raider

It’s been a good sight no problems. Only thing that bugged me were the lens caps. Don’t leave them attached to the sight or they will get in your way. Take them off and use them like a cover.

Great Value

by Gecko23, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on January 20, 2026
This is directly comparable to the excellent Primary Arms SLX Prisms with the added bonus that it uses an Aimpoint Micro T1/H1 footprint (same one used by Romeo5, Holosun 509t, etc) which is widely supported, versus the mini-acog footprint used by the SLX which has more limited options.

Weight is nice, glass is clear, reticle is clean and useful. It's a great little scope.
Pros:
  • Clarity
  • Fit & finish
  • T1 Footprint
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • PCC

Swampfox Raider Micro Prism

by Jmon, Verified Owner from AR, United States Written on October 19, 2025
Shipping sucked but that is nothing new here. Optic is great, the prism is as advertised for someone with astigmatism, glass is super clear, and holds zero very well so far.

Great Optic!

by John Utah, Verified Owner from UT, United States Written on September 3, 2025
I went with a prism because I have astigmatism and it's a game changer for me since the dot is now crisp. Another bonus with a prism is the etched reticle, so I have a reticle even if illumination is off or fails. Add the build quality, shake to wake, compact design, reasonable price, and this is my favorite optic.

I only found one con and it has nothing to do with the build of this optic - it's the fact that prisms have eye relief. I must have this optic closer to my eyes than a standard red dot. For me, there is no more mounting over the magwell. This can mean not having room for backup sights on some weapons. This is the case with my rifle and the popup sights I was using. There may be another type of rear sight I could use, but I am not too concerned with this particular weapon. However, this optic can co-witness with the Springfield Kuna popup sights when using the lowest included Swampfox mount.

I am so impressed with Swampfox that I will likely buy more of their optics for new builds, or to replace other optics.
Pros:
  • Price
  • compact
  • etched reticle
  • Easy access to battery
  • build quaity
  • Multiple mounts
  • Clear glass Crisp red dot
Cons:
  • eye relief
Best Used for:
  • self / home defence
