lightweight rifle mount
Excellent product, they fit my rifle (Kimber 84M) perfectly and are very solid. Torqued to 17 in/lbs for ring screws and to 25 in/lbs for the base screws. These stand up well to recoil and are lighter than steel rings.

dang things don't fit....
This ring set is specified for a Remington 700 short action rifle, says so right on the page...too bad they send the wrong mount screws with the rings. Remington uses a 6-48 screw size to mount scope rings to the receiver of their rifles, but Talley, for some reason, sends 8-40 scope ring screws - t...

Too high can’t sight
Have tried multiple sets of tally rings on a kimber mountain accent and all make the scope sit to high to even bore sight the gun to even try to shoot it. Have had tally rings before and loved them the fitment to the barrel isn’t great either there is a small air gap in the middle
Pros:
- None
Cons:
- Too high for the 84m chassis

Lifetime hunter
I am Building a sub 6 pound elk rifle. Talley scope mounts are an amazing only 2 ounces keeping my 308 Kimber Montana with scope at 5.9 pounds! Also the stainless color looks terrific with stainless rifle and Leupold 2x7 scope.
Pros:
- Light weight is the primary reason for my choice
Cons:
- None
Would recommend: Yes

Talley Rings for 84M
Rings look and function well. Be sure to order 6-48 screws for attaching the base to the reciever. This isn't made known in the description ans they're shipped with 8-40 screws. Aside from this minor snafu I was well pleased and would recommend.
Pros:
- Look and function well
Cons:
- Doesn't contain 6-48 screws
Would recommend: Yes

Hunter Extraordinaire
Liked the shape of the base and mount. Wish they fit better on my rifle. I had to lap the rings to keep the scope from binding. Was able to fix myself. I haven't shot the rifle yet to see if it hurt the accuracy.

Wrong size rings
I ordered 30mm Medium Talley rings for my Kimber/ Leupold through OpticPlanet.com, but got two different size rings. Didn’t figure it out until they were fully mounted and had to take them off to check the data on the bottom of the rings. Now I’m in a bind right before hunting season and sending the directly back to Talley to make sure they I get the correct ones. Disappointing.
Pros:
- Talley was helpful in figuring out the problem.
Cons:
- Hassle having to exchange the rings after having them mounted to find out they were two different size rings.
Would recommend: No

Great quality mounts
I’ve never used Talley mounts until I bought this set. They were recommended by Kimber and the fit was perfect on my new Kimber Model 84 in 270 Win. They mated up with the action well very securely hold my Vortex scope in place and on zero.
Pros:
- Price
- quaility
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Hungting

Make sure to order the right screw size
I accidentally ordered S940749 for a Kimber 84M. It came with 6-48 screws instead of 8-40. Big mistake. Now Optics Planet won't send me screws but told me to get in touch with Talley. Tally has some asian girl answering the phone and promising to get back in touch. She didn't seem to understand anything about screw sizes. What a hassle.
Pros:
- None
Cons:
- Screw size confusion
Would recommend: Yes
