Better than nothing

I prefer extended mag bases in general as they give you more to grip during reloads and it’s easier to ensure magazines are seated properly (compared to flush fit bases); especially on the Mark IV where the magazine enters at a particularly steep angle and the mag well is pretty unforgiving. After purchasing and using this product I realize that I would prefer a full length base pad, rather than just the hooked end style. The extension at the front, while it gives the grip extra length (not something I needed), doesn’t make reloads easier as you’re pushing from the front when the magazine needs to be pushed from the back due to the steep angle of entry. Could have potentially anticipated this based on the photos, but it’s still an upgrade from the regular mag bases and will suit my needs for now. Looks-wise it definitely gives the gun an evil villain vibe, but that’s consistent across the Tandemkross aftermarket lineup for Mark IVs
Pros:
  • Functional
Cons:
  • poor design
  • aesthetics

first off do not buy the regular mk iv 22/45 bases. I did write a review on those. I suggest you read it. but, the Tomahawks are good except for one issue. there’s a hole molded into the base before you get to the locking pin hole .. so you have to stick a screwdriver through the magazine slide and lift the locking pin up a little to get them passed the 1st hole to get them seated completely, which is a little ridiculous . once installed they are great. fyi, The hook is meant For your left hand, not your right hand ( or not for your primary hand ) if you’re wondering why the hook is so far away when you hold the gun .
Pros:
  • Nice grip
Cons:
  • hole before locking hole
Best Used for:
  • MK4
