Fits most generic AKMs, you will need a gas tube and upper handguard that will hold this down securely if you want to mount any lasers on it and hold zero. Otherwise it holds pretty tight and secure.
The main issue is the design where the rear three vertical rows of slots are useless to mount mlok Compatable hardware unless you use longer screws and possibly do some filing or r3move material.
The rear bottom of the handle dips slightly lower and makes mounting anything far back difficult, it will almost definly require modification.
Other than that it's fairly light and sturdy.
Pros:
- compact
- practical
- Simple
- Secure
- clean
Best Used for:
- Tactical
- lights
- Lasers
- Grips

Like all the other reviews, lots of hand fitting required to fit the TDI onto a ZPAP M70. Needed to remove a lot of metal of the rear lugs to fit into the receiver. There was no hole for the cleaning rod, had to dremel that out. The holes on the lower 45° angles are not mlok, just holes. The actual mlok holes do work but are out of spec and extremely tight, had to shave off some material to get anything to fit into them. Now that I’m done its a good handguard, but considering all the other options out there in 2025, this isn’t worth the work.

The TDI lower hand guard looks and feels great. I purchased it for my M90NP and it did need a little modification to make it fit. So if you buy it thinking it’s plug and play, and maybe it should, but this hand guard is not the case. It really isn’t that hard to modify it and once modified, it looks great!
Pros:
- Great Product and Great Price
Cons:
- needs a little modification

It didn’t fit the zap 92 like it’s supposed to be. He will need a gun smooth to help out or tweak yourself.

The finish, look and feel of the handguard was awesome, and I was prepared to do some fitting. Sat down with a file, masked off the trunnion side of the handguard, measured with calipers and starting filing. Got the handguard where it had to be tapped into place with a plastic hammer and had 0 wobble, only had to file on the top of the rear lug. Used a plastic hammer against the front retainer and handguard to ensure that everything was seated with no gap. The problem is with the overall length of the handguard, it is between 40 to 60 thousands too long and the retainer lever could not be reengaged. I hopped on Reddit to see if other people were experiencing the same issue, which they were. Everyone said just use pliers and a hammer to carefully tap the lever back into the locked position at which point it sheared off, not sure how much engaged it is with the cutout and not sure how I am going to get the handguard off to replace it as it is "tight". No matter how careful I was, I still managed to get dings all over the gas block and front retainer of my new pistol, which I will accept responsibility for however the only way to fit properly was to install, remove, file and repeat. Only way I could see this being doable would be to put the handguard in a mill and evenly remove the necessary thickness and at that point, what's the point. I have a new ZPAP M92.

Fit zpap92 with a bit of filing. For anyone doing this: you only need to file the long side of the receiver tab that faces upwards(toward the barrel). Make sure to use a flat head to pop out the spring steel "rear" retainer that is between the factory handguard and the receiver. This is not an akm with 100 handguard choices. You realistically have this one and the midwest industries hg(unless you want to pay $200+ for the SLR or JMC handguards). The midwest handguard has a plastic block between it and the front trunnion. That trunnion gets hot. The TDI handguard is not a plug-and-play part. There is fitment. It was made oversized so that you take take material away from it and get it super-tight.
Pros:
- Lightweight
- Rock-Solid
- 1 of only 4 options for m92/zpap92

Fit perfectly on m70. Good quality. Easy way to add foward grip. That’s was my motivation to buy. Thought about adding dong but they seem to cost 100-200. This handguard is bit pricey but it works good and cheaper than other options. Looks very good on an AK in my opinion. The Mlok is an easy way to add accessories. It’s lighter than original handguard. Cleaning rod still fit. A lil tight but it fit back in. Again easy way to add foward grip.

Are you install this on my AK 47. I topped it off with a cheese grater going to a folding front grip on do you have to use a folding front grip because you cannot get the clips in and out of your AK-47 and less it falls. It’ll be really cool and it looks really cool thank you very much. I recommend this to everyone.
Pros:
- Little bit of filing for perfect fit
