Used in my 8" Dobsonian telescope with a 203mm primary and a focal length of 1200mm (F5.9), this eyepiece yields about 34x. This eyepiece is an excellent upgrade from the stock eyepiece that came with my scope, a 30mm 2" wide-field. While my stock eyepiece could provide proper focus for objects in the middle of the field, objects closer to the edge were out of focus and vice-versa. With the Panoptic 35mm, the entire field is in focus. Both eyepieces are stated to have a 68* apparent field-of-view (AFOV), but the Panoptic 35mm clearly has a larger AFOV in a side by side test (holding both of them up together like a pair of binoculars). Pincushion distortion is only lightly apparent when panning and is not a serious issue, as it is a by-product of producing the entire field in focus. Andromeda and the double cluster were magnificent using this eyepiece.
