Most Helpful Negative Review AR-15 Ambidextrous Oversized Charging Handle Latch, Gen 5
The product seems well made, so on that, Id say there should be no worries. In my case with the particular charge handle I added it to, I did have issues. It installed easy, but when using, when the lever is pulled back it was rubbing the aluminum of the charging handle, creating drag, causing the lever to hang back and not engage forward right to lock to receiver. It also marred up the charging handle pretty good. So it is not a fit all standard charging handles remedy apparently. Maybe it fits Tiger Rock branded charging handles better. about the perfect size

by Jayel Dubya, Verified Owner from AL, United States Written on July 26, 2025
As far as extended latches go this is my favorite. Most are too big and make my knuckle drag down my optics. The rest just don't feel good. My natural nothing is to put my thumb on the rear of the charging handle and this one fits my hand size well. Good value for the money.

out of spec

by Logan, Verified Owner from MA, United States Written on May 23, 2024
Had to file down quite a bit of material on either side of the latch for it to fit, and actually function properly in my charging handle. Not worth the price savings, just buy a nicer charging handle.
Pros:
  • NONE !
Cons:
  • None

Same issue as user above.

by Matt, from MD, United States Written on June 23, 2023
I'm pretty much having the same issue as the user above. Not seating all the way and removing material from the upper. Also to not yanking on the extetion pulls the latch far behind the handle you have to make sure you use your thumb to support behind the T.
