A little loose with slimmer QD connectors
In general, these M-Lok Quick Disconnect mounting points can get the job done, but they are hardly a precision piece of equipment.
If you only have one (or multiple identically sized QD connectors), don't buy this unless you know your QD connector fits this brand socket. Why? These Timber Creek Outdoors sockets are on the large size, and among my various QD connectors, this fit the larger ones well, but was very loose with some of the smaller ones. I wouldn't rely on it to connect an excessively loose QD connector for two reasons: 1)undue wear and tear; 2) it is takes much less force to pu...

Not proper spec
Be aware this mount is not the same spec as many QD clips. Like other reviewers I was disappointed my mahout and other QD clips are loose and don’t engage. I’m going to try to file it as one reviewer mentioned and possibly buy a Timber Creek clip to see if it will work, but I’m disappointed.
Pros:
- Nice finish
- Solid unit
Cons:
- Doesnt accept all clips
Best Used for:
- Looks

Fixed with a file
I had the same problem as a lot of other people where the mount isn’t able to be pushed in far enough to allow the little balls in the mount to come out. File just enough material off the face of the mount to remove the finish completely and your QD will function properly and be in there solid. Not ideal but saved it from being junk. You can’t tell the finish was removed from the face when there’s a QD in there anyways
Pros:
- Made it work
Cons:
- Timber creek has their specs off
Best Used for:
- When there no options and you need one

Misleading
Simply put, it was not applicable with the Magpul swivel. I have that swivel along with the Magpul mount on one of my builds and they work perfectly together. Using the Magpul swivel and the Timber Creek QD point is a waste of time and money. The swivel will not stay inside the mount. Adding some kind of epoxy or other sealing compound would likely fix it but you shouldn’t and wouldn’t need to do that if you had the proper mount for the swivel. I saw nothing indicating that Timber Creeks product wasn’t applicable with Magpuls and with what seemed like a great deal ended up being a fail.
Pros:
- Seems decently constructed
- Mlok system had no problem fitting onto the rail and staying there.
Cons:
- It will not work with all swivels

Fine for air soft I guess
If you plan on using this on a duty weapon, stay away from it. My QD male end skips right out without pushing the button. At first I thought it was the sling, but it works perfect in the QD mount built into my receiver. The hole is too big on the timber creek mounting point. I will be returning!
Pros:
- Looks nice
Cons:
- It does not hold
Best Used for:
- paper weight
