The factory trigger isn't bad on the RPR but this one is GREAT!! Where there is some creep in the factory trigger, there is none with the Timney. It's a great upgrade!
Pros:
- Very easy install, very nice clean and crisp trigger pull and let off.
Best Used for:
- Upgrading from factory trigger

Very unsafe!! Says it can be adjusted to as low as 8oz. At 16oz, 1 in 5 bolt cycles fail to engage trigger…or sear slips and you get a VERY DANGEROUS slam fire.

Installed this in my RPR magnum. Works and am happy with it for the most part. Just kind of expected a little more from Timney, especially for the price. First thing I noticed was the safety is far less smooth and positive feeling compared to the ruger factory safety. Definitely disappointing! It works just fine but feels like I down graded. The trigger itself is nice and has a good feel and clean break. They stated it comes factory set to 1lb 2nd stage. I found that very hard to believe. It felt no lighter than the factory trigger which can only go as low as 2 1/4lb. Got it adjusted almost perfect, wanted to go a little bit lighter but discovered if you adjust it past a certain point I guess there’s a safety feature that requires you to throw the safety on between cycling each round which is disappointing as well because it still isn’t that light feeling. Truthfully I think the factory trigger that came on my bergara b14 has a lighter pull without even touching it. Overall it’s a decent trigger but for the money I really am disappointed with Timney. If it weren’t on sale I definitely would’ve gone with trigger tech!

Ruger needs to start reaching out to trigger companies prior to releasing a firearms. Timney worked with Ruger to make this two stage trigger and it is a match made in Heaven! .8oz take up with a 1oz break, this only takes a few shots to get used to it. The trigger is an additional cheat code for long distance precision shooting. For just over $200 you get an amazing trigger, I was hesitant as the stock trigger isn't bad, but it is far from great. I am always hesitant to purchase a Timney trigger as they are normally very expensive, but not anymore, I'll be replacing a few more on other rifles with Timney!!
Pros:
- well built
- light
- Easy adjustment
- trusted brand
- increase of precision
- smooth pull
- easy to install
- Increase accuracy
- Solid build and fit, unbelievable price for quality
- Smooth & crisp
- Crisp brake
Best Used for:
- hunting
- precision shooting
- Accuracy and reliability

Ordered my first one and safety mechanism was so tight I had to use entire hand to flip on/off(not just thumb flip). Returned it for ANOTHER one. ON the 2nd one, the safety was a little looser(not much), but the trigger would NOT reset if turned down AT ALL.
Returned that one, as well. No again. SO...Waiting for a different manufacturer....
Cons:
- everything else about them sucks

It’s a little different for the Magnum rifle than online videos which are for the standard rifle. A couple of parts need to be switched over so it’s not a true “drop in”. No big issue to do. Straight forward, works as advertised.

Horrible. The trigger does not let the bolt close all the way so you cannot use it with the Ruger precision rifle. Do not purchase this because it will not work in your gun. It was a waste of 300 dollars.

Very disappointed advertised incorrectly and their installation videos online are bogus. Firstly it is not a true drop in and you must remove parts from existing trigger and install on this . The spring can go flying and you can lose it. Secondly. The 2nd stage pull ships at 1.lb for a treason. It fails every few pulls at 8 ounces which is where i needed it to be and only reason I bought trigger. Why I was capable of installing and assembling this trigger. IT IS NOT FOR EVERYONE. It is junk and galley advertised. I put a true drop in trigger in my ruger 10/22 . No gunsmith or special tools or disassembly were needed. This is NOT a drop in trigger pack and IT DONT WORK. I am requesting a return as soon as they open on Monday.
Pros:
- None
- Does not work at .8 ounces

This trigger is definitely better than the factory RPR trigger. I like the flat face and the two stage and the glass like wall. I didn't like how soft the aluminum is and it feels a little sticky on the bolt for the first 100 cycles or so. I would have preferred a little harder aluminum body, but otherwise a solid trigger.
