Did my first Savage build, with a Shilen barrel and HS Precision stock, and decided it REALLY needed a better trigger to do the rifle justice, as the stock trigger was pretty terrible. Mine is a non Accu-Trigger older 110 action. I was concerned it would be difficult to adjust, to get it set up correctly, but the instruction that came with the Timney are actually very clear, easy to follow. It's actually quite simple, and if you just do what they describe, step by step, you'll be done earlier than expected. The original trigger has a wire spring on the side to adjust trigger pull weight, and the Timney used a coil spring that goes on top-rear of the new trigger, and weight is adjusted by the 3rd adjustment screw from the back. It has a LOT more range, and a lot easier and accurate of an adjustment than the stock trigger has, and it's safe. It breaks clean now, and I have adjusted the sear engagement, weight and overtravel easily per their instructions, pretty amazing improvement. Mine is a hunting rifle, and I set it to 2 pounds 10 ounces while doing load development, and will likely increase to 3 pounds for deer and elk season.
Pros:
- Very easy to install
- Simple to adjust, just follow instructions
- Fine adjustment for sear engagement, trigger weight, and overtravel, a lot more than stock trigger offered
Cons:
- Somewhat expensive, but worth it

Easy install, BTW should you buy a savage rifle check the trigger pin. Mine was missing the C-clip that holds the pin in place. It allowed the pin to move and the symptom was a very light trigger pull until the pin moved enough to “lock” the trigger. I’ve sent a email to Savage but they haven’t responded after 3 weeks. Glad Timney has the for site to include a new C-clip THANKS TIMNEY!!

This item arrived and was put right to use. Trigger was easy to install in my Savage 110 (pre accutrigger) and easy to set-up. First trigger change of any kind. Took to the range for some testing and amazed by how much difference there was between the two. Tighter groups compared to factory trigger, which was very difficult to pull. Great deal at the sale price, easy to install and set-up and seems to be great quality so far.
Pros:
- Substantially smoother and lighter trigger pull
- Ease of install and set-up

This trigger dropped right into tje rifle i had and instantly upgraded tje shootability of the gun. I was considering buying a new, better rifle, but was able to keep this one and acheive what I wanted while keeping the sentimental value. Great product.

Leaps and bounds ahead if the factory Savage trigger (non-accutrigger). It does take some patience and fine motor skills to get adjusted. It may or may not be able to be safely adjusted to mere ounces as advertised due to varying tolerance of the factor sear. I was able to get it down to about 1.5 lbs and still pass the "slam test" closing the bolt. A good gunsmith and a set of quality soapstones could do even better. Overall it is a definate improvement over factory trigger but still not as good as SSS - but at least Timney can actually be found in stock.
