Most Helpful Positive Review Awesome Scope
This scope is amazing. No batteries required. The reticle is beautiful and very clearly seen. If you look through it from dark room into bright sunlight you lose the green color but the reticle is still very visible , it just turns black. This is the best, just a bit of magnification, perfect .

I really like this particular ACOG
Tough as nails super simple to use. A lot of people call it a glorified red dot however if is so it’s way better than any of the other red dots I used. Super lens clarity No batteries or settings to fool with ever

Red, errr, GREEN Dot Alternative for SHTF

by Code, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on April 26, 2020
I scratched my head at the thought of a 1.5x optic- decided to give it a go, and glad I did. The 1.5x is extremely fast for CQB, yet the extra boost in magnification can lend to target ID. Running an ACOG boosts confidence that your optic can go ham and back and stay zeroed. Fiber optics, tritium, and an etched reticle all complement eachother in various lighting conditions. Some claim looking into a lit area from a dark area has serious wash out- I find these claims over-hyped, and can work through this situation no problem, maybe just milliseconds lost, thanks to the etched reticle. If you are not 100% confident with dealing with potential washout perhaps consider the addition of offset irons. I choose the green reticle since I favor that contrast in desert environment. When in the dark the tritium is well lit, almost as if you are looking through a battery powered reticle on lower mid-range; seems turbocharged over my TA31 for some reason. I contempated this vs the ACSS reticle. I liked the concept of the ACSS but ended up choosing the circle dot, as the ACSS reticle is BDC calibrated for M193 out of a 16” barrel, and my intented use for this optic is for targets 200 meters and in out of a 10.3 URG-I MK18. I am happy with this choice and have found the circle dot extremely fast and easy to pick up. The eye box and relief seem generous, much more than advertised. Field of view is impressive for such a small scope. Did I mention how lightweight and compact this ACOG is?

Glass is amazing

Just like the larger models, Trijicons optical glass is better than my eyes. Super clear sight picture without having to adjust the dot level. Amazing to say the least. Used it on a MCX Canebreak. Great optic

Great RDS Alternative

by BMac, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on April 17, 2017
Trijicon ACOG's are known for their durable and crystal quality optics, and this is no exception. The glass is crystal clear and there are no electronics to ever fizzle or fail. This model, the TA44 -1.5x optic is perfect for close engagements from muzzle to about 200 yards. And for those with aging eyes like myself, the optic offers an excellent, clear reticle that otherwise get blurred and blobby with red dot due to astigmatism and just otherwise "old eyes". This model has a green reticle with a dot inside that is etched; the beauty is that if the fiber optic ever gets washed out or the tritium wears out, you still have a black reticle. It will never fail like a red dot may. Another plus is the weight of this thing which is only a few ounces. ACOGS may be expensive but it's a "buy once cry once" deal, and they hold their value too. There's a reason why our armed forces have used ACOGS for over a decade.
