Amazing optic. Came clean, clearly new from optics planet. Larue tactical 799 qd mount is awesome. Came with carry case. Manuals. And ajustable wrench. Optic is perfect. The price was a steal for 1200$. Its listed for 1750$ on trijicons website.

Trijicon ACOG TA31-D-100582 Horseshoe BAC Reticle

by Oh3kusmc, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on September 13, 2025
If you missed out on the Primary Arms ACSS retiicle ACOG like I did, the TA31-D-100582 is for you. The reticle on this ACOG is about as close to the ACSS you'll get and it comes from Trijicon. The LaRue Tactical mount is very solid and does not wiggle. Glass is very clear and the reticle is clear and bright. It does have the same drawbacks that the ACOGs are known for. It is 4x magnification power so no adjustable lens. Eye relief has to be just right, so if you're running back up sights, the LaRue Tactical mounts makes it easy to remove or mount the ACOG because you won't be able to flip them up with the ACOG mounted. ACOG came in a nice plastic box with foam, a soft sleeve, the LaRue Tactical mount, lens pen, and tools for the mount, plus instructions. This is not RMR ready, however it appears that Trijicon sells aftermarket kits to be able to mount one. Overall, I am happy with my purchase, especially since I got such a good deal with Optics Planet.
Pros:
  • Solid and robust
  • Clarity and reticle, no batteries required
  • LaRue Tactical mount
  • BAC Reticle
Cons:
  • eye relief
  • No adjustable focus
  • No room to flip up back up sights.
Best Used for:
  • Quick target acquisition
  • range estimation
  • Quick follow up shots

Acogs are as advertised

by Keithy baby, Verified Owner from MA, United States Written on November 16, 2024
My second one. Bought the 3.5x model with the .308 crosshair reticle which is on my piston driven LMT quad 16" rifle and this one is on my LMT 20" quad rifle. Only thing I want better is the eye relief but not a deal wrecker plus I knew that prior to buying it. Fixed power prism optics have crappy eye relief and I know that and have known that. Fov is awesome, glass clarity might be the best in the world , reticle is beautiful but not overwhelming plus appears to be spot on as far as BDC marks. If Acogs were a couple hundred less dollars, I'd buy at least 2 or 3 more yet at this point, I might buy a couple more anyway. Last thing is these optics are beautiful looking too and lightweight. Can't go wrong with a 'cog
Pros:
  • Everything
Cons:
  • Eye relief but I knew it prior to buying
Best Used for:
  • Shooting expensive awesome guns
