Most Helpful Positive Review TA648-308 review LMTMWS 308.
ACOG is in my opinion, the undisputed leader in battle rifle optics. The designs are very well executed and have in many cases not only revolutionized the imaging field but also set the standard. The TA648-308 was chosen by the British as their primary battle ready modular weapons sniping optics over all other available options regardless of cost. Clearly the ACOG648 is not a scope in the usual sense however, it addressed effectively the requirements to quickly, and accurately acquire targets at a distance in battle conditions, effectively. The one significant drawback is the weight, not t...

very sturdy and strong

by David, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on January 16, 2025
I am using this on my Barrett M107A1 .50bmg. I like the simplicity, sturdiness and ruggedness of the TRIJICON ACOG. The lenses are super clear!!! I also have ACOGs on all of my ARs as well. I like how TRIJICON offers there ACOGs in different calibers and configurations.
Pros:
  • The ACOG is hard to beat
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • AR PLATFORMS LONG AND SHORT BARRELS

Acog 6X48 review 10 characters

by Hoff, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on December 21, 2023
Great Quality, Heavy, Easy sight Adjustment, not as easy both eyes opened to shoot like an Eotech red dot. fibre optics work great, adjustment to brightness also works well. I am not sure it is the best option for shooting long distance. I have not tied it yet for that. sight picture is great!
Pros:
  • all it says it is
Cons:
  • on the heavy side
Best Used for:
  • 308 Ar10

large glass ❤️

by Chuck, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on December 2, 2020
If you have built a apocalypse weapon system to get you threw the bad times then this is a must have item . This scope has very wide diameter objective lens. This translates to letting maximum light in during low light times of the day. Top end glass when you look threw this it’s like your looking threw a window with no glass in it. Also NO electronics no batteries . Another huge plus if we ever have an EMP attack. This scope will function because it uses radioactive material to light up the reticle at night and fiber optics during the day.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Little on the heavy side.

Great optics, a couple things to consider

by RNFinCA, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on September 3, 2020
I bought this scope for my LaRue OBR 7.62 18" barrel. The mount that came with the optics shot 8" high at it's lowest setting. Trijicon offered that this is a "common issue" with the 308 version and offered to send me a different mount which I have yet to receive. I am sure it will be fine, but FYI.

The other thing that surprised me was the distance in the optics are set to meters with the zero suggested for 100 meters. It would be nice if they offered one for imperial as everything I have, including my range, is set to imperial.
Pros:
  • great optics
Cons:
  • Metric distance imbedded in optics

Outstanding optic

by Sdog, from MD, United States Written on March 13, 2020
I have shot many different types of acogs, but this particular one is really outstanding. The field of view, reticle and glass clarity are excellent. It should be clear from the pictures that this thing has some weight to it. So keep that factor into consideration.

Great Optic

by Ryan, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on August 6, 2018
First 308 Acog, much larger than I anticipated it being but I LOVE it. Just took it out yesterday to get it sighted in on my SCAR 17 and in just a few minutes was ringing steel at 100 yards. I love the adjustment dials, pull the caps off and there's knobs instead of small annoying screw/hex heads for your adjustments. Very easy to sight in and very clear glass.

Trijicon 6 by 48 ACOG

by Cory, from AL, United States Written on May 28, 2016
This Trijicon 6 by 48 ACOG works great on my AR-15. I had a 4 by 32 ACOG on my AR-15 and I like this one much better because it has way more eye relief and it is way more powerful. This scope is crystal clear and the green chevron reticles works great at night and even better in the daylight. I really like how you can zero the scope at 100 meters and it has reticles all the way out to 800 meters. This scope is noticeably heavier than the 4 by 32 ACOG but it is way more powerful.

Heavy and Clear

by Green Dragon, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on April 19, 2015
At this point, everyone knows that Trijicon ACOGs are some of the best optics. This version is humongous and heavy. If you're getting this you probably will fall into one of two categories (or both):

1) Stationary shooting
2) You're a physically strong person

Keep in mind that this optic is also very expensive. If you want an ACOG and you plan on doing a lot of running with your rifle than you may want something lighter. If not then by all means, get this.

TrijiconACOG 6x48 Dual Ill w/Mount, Red Chev. BAC .50 BMG

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on May 15, 2014
This 6x48 ACOG is built like a tank to handle abusive recoil from the .50 BMG. I found the red chevron BAC reticle a dream to use and easy to get on zero and stay on zero. This is a great option for shorter range application of the .50 cal.
Pros: Built super strong fo use with the .50 BMG
Cons: Heavy optic, would like more magnification
Would recommend: Yes

No buyers remorse

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on May 15, 2014
Mine is mounted on a Rock River LAR-8 Elite Operator. For me, the chevron is faster than the triangle, and pretty close to a dot. I have a 10 year old grandson, and he cleans up on the steel targets at 200 yards with this optic. I believe this will last for him to give it to his son, assuming we all still have guns by then... This is the top of the line, I recommend this.
Pros: It's an ACOG
Cons: slightly heavy, but isn't going to break
