If you are in the market for a red dot optic this is it. Pros: This sight is light, dosent need batterys, is always illuminated, and with the arms #15 throw lever mount its easy and quick to remove to switch to back up iron sights. Cons: The only down side to this sight is: you will need to buy a new one after 15-20 years when the tritium dosent illuminate the reticle anymore if you want to use it in low light or the dark.

Trijicon RX01

This sight works great; very high quality. The 6.5 MOA dot is a little small, but visible in total darkness. Makes a great addition to any SBR or home defense rifle. Very rugged design and clear lense. The ARMS throw levers hold very well on the picatiny rails.

As a police officer I strive to implement the KISS principal (keep it simple stupid). I started with a mid price range red dot which I really liked but wasn't willing to trust my life to it so I moved to 4x32 ACOG with the green horse shoe which I love but it washed out in way too many situations for me to trust my life, my co workers lives and the people I protect with. I really wanted to try the 1x42 but my local dealer offered me a very good deal I couldn't resist on this one. I am so glad that I did. One thing that I have not seen mentioned anywhere is that the front mounted fiber optic picks up reflected light from a weapon light and increases the reticle brightness, something the ACOG or 1x42 could never do with their top mounted fiber optic. It does wash out if I'm in a totally dark room looking into a bright area but I came up with a way to eliminate that. I made a mount that would mount on my rail in front of the optic that holds a single AAA led flashlight that points at the fiber optic. It works great and unlike the high end holographic sight I removed, if the little flashlight fails the dot is still there and is useable, it's just not as fast since it's not as bright. I can't think of a single situation in my career where I have been in a situation that would require this but it's better to have it and never need it than need it and not have it once. The only real drawback is that the fiber optic lightly glows when the flash light is on. Another thing I see people...

I havent used a Trijicon product that I havent liked.
Pros: works great, with the arms mount it can be removed and put back on the same rail without needing to re-zero.
Cons: its too bright to work with a NVD.
