Most Helpful Positive Review Definitely more precise
I have both versions of the HD sights, orange regular and yellow XR, and I definitely prefer the new XR version. It is more precise and easier to see the target. Color wise, that is personal preference but the orange is my favorite.
Most Helpful Negative Review Low grade product with a high price.
I have a Springfield sub compact and I've been working with a firearms instructor to improve my defensive skills. I was having issues with front sight focus, my instructor recommended the Trijicon HD XR sights. Looked like a good solution. Ordered the sights and shopped for a knowledgeable gunsmi...

HD XR SIGHTS

by None, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on May 20, 2026
I have these on other guns and love them. They are bright and large enough that I pick them up immediately and don't loose theme in the middle of a stage of competition.

Not an Expected outcome

by PBR, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on April 16, 2026
I recently bought and tried Trijicon HD XR night sights, and my experience has been mixed.

On the positive side, the sights are very well built. The all-metal construction feels extremely sturdy and durable, and they definitely seem like they can handle long-term use. I also really like the narrow front sight—it’s a nice feature that helps with precision aiming compared to wider front posts.

Installation, however, was a challenge. The rear sight was extremely tight in the Glock 43X dovetail. It required a lot of force to install, and honestly, I’m concerned that removing it in the future could damage the slide. That level of tightness might be a plus for some people, but it felt excessive in my case.

Performance-wise, the sights are excellent in two extremes: bright, direct sunlight and complete darkness. In those conditions, they do exactly what they’re supposed to do. The tritium is clear at night, and the front sight stands out well in full sun.

Where they fall short for me is in transitional lighting. In shaded areas or under cloud cover, I had trouble clearly picking up the front sight. Even under a covered shooting area, the bright yellow front didn’t stand out the way I expected. It just didn’t “pop” to my eyes in those conditions, which made target acquisition slower.

This could be a personal visibility issue, but for me, it limits their effectiveness. Because of that, I’m not entirely impressed overall. They work great sometimes, but not consistently enough to j...

Trijicon + Glock = Perfection

by Froggy, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on November 4, 2025
Purchased these night sights for both of my Glocks. I have been a Trijicon fan for my Glock handguns 17 and 19 since the early generations of this handgun and they do not disappoint.in their performance. This newest version XL HD with the fluorescent Orange outline around the front green tritium green sight makes target acquisition much quicker and more confident. The sight picture with the thinner front post sight is far superior to the standard Glock iron sights. This feature allows for a closer shot grouping either at the range or in a personal defense situation. Had mine installed by a gunsmith which I highly recommend.

Must have for any gun

by Danny Rocano, Verified Owner from CT, United States Written on March 5, 2025
Best sights for any gun. If they don’t make the hd’s or the hd-xr’s for your gun grab a set of Ameriglo Trooper’s. Ameriglo is the sister company of trijicon and they told me it’s the basically the same sight

Doesn’t fit G19 MOS

by M Gerges, Verified Owner from NJ, United States Written on December 19, 2024
I bought this one for my G19 MOS, but it sticks back out side of the slide. The Glock 19 MOS sight cut is more to the back side than the stander Glock 19

Front Tritium Completely Dead In 3 Months

by David, Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on November 29, 2024
I've had Trijicon HD sights on a handful of pistols in the past all of which are still going strong. However Trijicon quality seems to have gone way downhill with this most current sight set I bought. Having a tritium sight die after only 3 months is just not acceptable. I mean it's not even glowing at all it's just completely dead. The rear sight is still fine but now I don't trust that one will last either. I'll be swapping these out for something else. It's hard to want to pay the premium for the Trijicon name if this is the quality you get. They've gotten the last of my money.
