By “animals”, I mean those of us who have an uncanny ability to eventually break everything. This thing, like most of Trijicon’s lineup, is bomb proof. One of my favorite aspects of how it’s built is the robust adjustment fin, opposed to the adjustment twigs found on other LPVOs. I decided to put it on a double latch QD mount from Midwest Industries, and I also put flip caps on each end. Its heavy, but I bought it because it’s built like a tank, and those are heavy too. I am getting used to the horse shoe reticle, which at first I wished was a chevron. On a sunny day with snow on the ground, the horse shoe is still well lit and able to be quickly identified. That is more important to me than a precise chevron when it comes to an LPVO. The glass is clear, and even at 6x the eye relief is good. All in all, I recommend this to anyone who is hard on their equipment, or simply wants the piece of mind that bomb proof equipment provides.
Pros:
- Durability
- Clarity
- reticle

I purchased this VCOG for $1800.00 when it went on sale.I have wanted to buy this optic for at least 3 years but was waiting for a good sale to come along. After my purchase my brother in-law also purchased one too. My trip to the range to sight in the VCOG was very easy. Trijicon advises sighting the optic at 100 yards. After firing three, three round groups and making adjustments I was dead center on the target at 100 meters. In my opinion Trijicon make the best optics in the world and their made in the USA. The glass is crystal clear and making windage and elevation adjustments are very easy. I like the quick release mount and recommend this mount. The rifle I mounted the optic on is the Daniel Defense DD5V1 7.62 mil. In my humble opinion it was well worth the money. You get what you pay for.

I would definitely recommend this scope to a friend. The VCOG was beyond what i expected in terms of eye relief and glass quality. It's worth every penny. I would recommend waiting for a discount code offer to get the lowest possible price.
Pros:
- Easy to mount
- eye relief
- Glass clarity

First off I'll say that this is still great trijicon product, but I have some reservations. First, it's too expensive at full price. I got mine around 1600 with discounts. It's probably worth that. But I also returned the first one I received because the reticle plane was full of dust particles that reflected the illumination red when turned on. No optic of this level should have gotten through quality control like that. Replacement one also had a few dust spots, but much less and smaller. I can live with them. Not a deal breaker. But they still shouldn't be there. Second is the reduce loudly long eye relief. You pretty much have to mount it all the way forward on the receiver, or get a cantilever mount. Now I do shoot almost nose to charging handle, but most ar shooters do too. This eye relief is stupid. For an optic that will be on an ar 99% of the time, 2-3 inches is more than enough. So I was going to return it agin, but found the GDI R com cantilever mount made for acog. Any acog mount will work just fine. I found the gdi on eBay for like 40$ and it works perfectly. There are other cantilever acog and cog mount south there to try. So I really do like it after fitting it to mount and getting it way out front for proper eye relief. I shoot it really well, and it is still trijicon awesome, but it needs some modification to eye relief, and better quality control and cheaper price. Acog with a piggyback mrds is just as good.

Want the best? Here it is. If it meets your mission requirements then you won't be disappointed. Besides cost the only real negative is the weight. But if you want durable then it takes a certain amount of metal doesn't it. The other point is that the mount takes up a bit of rail space which may or may not be an issue.

Very good quality product !!
Exactly what I needed and very well built.
Kind of pricey but I dont mind paying if I am getting the service and quality I am supposed too.
Besides it is made in USA.
Very clear glass and illumination is just perfect for my eyes.

Excellent optics in both good and low light conditions. Zoom is very helpful for good and low light conditions and makes for easy adjustment between close and long range shots. Reticle allows for fast and easy target acquisition. Scope is slightly larger and heavier but good trade off.

Just like the TV advertisements... Rigged. Repeatable. Reliable. This scope is built for hard use. You can feel it as soon as you take it out of the box. There's no need to baby this one. It was super easy to mount. I like the fin on the magnification ring (Kudos to the Trijicon design team). Optical quality is excellent, although you can't really see the subtension hold over lines at 1x power; maybe that's just my 49 year old eyes. The only thing I find lacking is a parallax adjustment. While not intended to be a long range scope, Trijicon should have included a side focus knob considering some will attempt 300-400 yard shots with this scope.

Trijicon impresses again! 1st thing I noticed about this scope when I took it out of the box was how heavy and solid it felt. The glass is perfect crystal clear and the reticle is easy to read at any magnification. The center crosshair is a bit thick on full magnification, definitely not for a bulls-eye shooter, but I was easily able to hold 2-3 inch groups at 200 yards. 6 different brightness levels cover all light situations and I love how the brightness options are set ups, off between each level, not just off at the one end and bright at the other. Mount is also solid and machined well, only a few clicks in each direction and it was sighted in quickly for me. I've only had this on the range so far, but I'm looking forward to getting it out into the field.
Keep up the good work Trijicon!
Pros:
- clairty
- Solidly built
- easy zeroing and click adjustments
Cons:
- Had to spend an extra $70 for lens caps??!!
Best Used for:
- hunting/tactical/operators
- self/defense/competition

It's perfect, glass bright and clear. The feel of it scream quality with quality parts all coming together to form a masterpiece. No fish eye, reticle crisp and bright. One of the lightest scope with that level of quality.
Pros:
- Brightness settings
- Clarity/brightness is outstanding
