Echo 15" hand guard
Surface Finish was good. Screws and allen wrench provided. Problem with mine was one of the mounting holes was not drilled and recessed correctly on the hand guard, and one of the screw holes in Barrel nut was out of line with other and of course this is where it lined up, had to add more shims (Not...

get the right tools.
This is a very sturdy and light weight piece, but not noticibly lighter than a standard quad rail and aluminum barrel nut of the same size. Took a few tries to align correctly, as trying to torque it down with an 1 1/4 wrench with torque hole made it awkward and inaccurate to align. After the 3rd fit-up and screw session, I went with the “I guess it’s close enough” and then saw that the rail was larger than the rail on my upper, and ended up just drilling the screw holes on the hand guard a little larger so I could shift it, then tighten. I’m no master armorer, so maybe someone with more than 7 years experience can do better on the first try.
Pros:
- Looks great
Cons:
- Not an easy mod.
Best Used for:
- Paperweight.

Missing Parts
Barrel nut would not torque down enough had to use size .5 shims to get it torqued where it needed to be screws are cheaply made and it's actually a bit heavier than the original drop in guard if I could return it I would and get something else Another brand even Don't waist your money

Inferior finish
This item is machined nicely, and feels good in the hand. The finish, however, is not the normal mil-spec hard coat anodize. It appears to be some sort of paint or powder coat, and is not likely to hold up to long term use. When I first opened it, It was already chipped in the countersink area around the mounting screw holes. Another point , to note, is the barrel but has very narrow flats that will require either a special wrench or modification of a standard one.
