Most Helpful Positive Review rock solid battle rail
Another top quality product from Troy Industries. This rail gives you extra room to mount accessories. I wanted more room to mount my bipod and AFG2 on the bottom rail. Easy installation as all Troy drop-in battle rails are. Great pricing from Optics Planet makes this a great buy!!

Troy Battle Rail

by RickAt1AU, Verified Owner from MN, United States Written on March 14, 2019
A great product from Troy Industries, the Battle Rail is a solid accessory for your AR. This item was on back order when I ordered it, but it was worth the wait. I wanted an option for my AR that enabled me to keep the front sight post and this product did just that. This rail system is a solid build and is easy to install. Note that it is a bit on the heavy side, but it's of great quality.
Pros:
  • Quality
  • easy to install
  • Great Accessories
Cons:
  • Heavier and more expensive than other options.
Best Used for:
  • AR-15

Not quit drop in

by Twitchy, from ME, United States Written on September 21, 2018
I Really liked the concept but it did not line up with my bushmaster barrel nut. I had to take it to my gunsmith to file down barrel nut to fit properly. It fits and works as it should now. Plenty of space for add-ons.
Pros:
  • Great concept, built to last
Cons:
  • Doesnt line up with barrel nut. Not really drop in

Good rail but heavy

by Slick, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on November 26, 2017
Traded up my H&K416 for a Colt M4 but was missing all the rail space a 416 offers. Bought the Troy Charlie rail for the Colt and got exactly what it advertises. 2 QD mounts on each side, and most importantly, rail space in front of the front sight post where I found my hand constantly trying to go. I try to keep my rifles basic so all I really had was a Surefire Scout light at the forward 3 o'clock position, pressure pad on top, hand stop on bottom. One thing I couldn't get used to was 1) the big weight difference between the Knights Armament carbine length rails that came off the gun and 2) the girth of the rail. The weight was not too big of an issue. but the balance of the rifle is what got affected the most. The Colt became exactly what I didn't like about the 416, a forward top heavy rifle. Also the rail is fat, not like the fat girl you don't want to dance with at the club, but more like the thick girl that you'll pump a few drinks into at 1230 kind of fat. For me and my medium size hands, it was just a little too much. If you don't mind a little weight and girth to your rifle, you'll love the rail. Once installed the rail is SOLID and very well built. I wouldn't hesitate to use it in the worst conditions. However, me and the rail didn't jive so unfortunately this big girl had to go back to herd. Switched back to the Knights Armament rails. Would still recommend but with caution.
Pros:
  • free float barrel
  • Tons of rail space
  • QD mounts
Cons:
  • thick
  • Forward Heavy

No regrets

by Robert Davis, from WA, United States Written on April 22, 2016
I got my rail in the mail and was immediately happy with it.

I think it took all of about 10 minutes too open it, glance at the instructions and install it.

Looks great, sits firm and gives me free float.

Great product by Troy, thanks Optics Planet for another great piece for my toy.
