Most Helpful Positive Review This tool comes with front battle sight
I ordered front/back tritium battle sights and figured I needed this adjustment tool to adjust the front sight; however, the front sight came with the adjustment tool. You will not read this on the description of the front sight. Great tool if you need one. Pros: Quality Cons: Now I have two
Most Helpful Negative Review Not as pictured
Prongs are about half the length as shown in the picture. That isn’t what makes them unusable. The diameter of the tool is smaller than that of the front sight post. I figured the Troy sight tool would work Troy sights.

FINALLY, Leave it to Troy to make a perfect tool.

by JosephFix, from MI, United States Written on May 6, 2023
This one has a rear sight notch on the reverse end... instead of the useless 5-tooth vintage like 99.9% of these things. If you happened on this gem, consider yourself lucky, since it's not tagged with 'A2' or 'sight'. Buy two and be done.
Pros:
  • rear sight adjuster on reverse end
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Battlesights from Troy

A Garbage Must Have

by Adam Fracino, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on June 27, 2018
The tabs on the tool bent with normal use. I used a pair of needle nose to unbend it. Unfortunately the tool is almost crucial once u have successfully pushed down the detent and spring on the sight. :)

Not needed if you buy the front Troy sight

by Steve, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on March 28, 2018
I ordered this tool believing that it was required for the rear Troy sight. I also ordered the front Troy sight and discovered the front sight already included this tool. In other words I ended up with two tools. Optics Planet did the right thing and credited me back for the tool I ordered and said just keep the extra tool rather than go through the hassle of returning the duplicate tool.

Well Made, Well Suited For Intended Use

by Larry Finley, Verified Owner from IA, United States Written on August 4, 2017
I have Troy sights on my Ruger SR556 Takedown. I bent one of the prongs recently and needed a new sight tool. I store this in the Hogue grip. Easy to adjust sights. This is easier to grip than the short tool that came with the rifle.

Never have to use a pen again for FSP

by Troy, from AZ, United States Written on April 30, 2017
It seems somewhat nnecessary to purchase, but this took about 75% of the ongoing tedious effort out of adjusting/removing/reinstalling the front sight from the A2 base. Definitely worth it, especially if you're at the range often

This is a no nonsense adjustment tool. Simple to use...as if it couldn't be? It adjusts the Troy front battle sights and that is what I needed to do.

Great Product!!!

by M., Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on July 3, 2012
This is a great product and works with most, if not all, A2 front sights. The only thing I don't like is the hole in the middle. They could have placed it closer to the non-working end so that it hangs better when you put a 550 cord through it. Other than that, I like it!!!
Pros: User friendly and better than other adjustment tool!
Cons: Hole in the middle!
