Troy BattleRails Rock!!!
I own a lot of guns and I've customized many of them. The Troy BattleRail is one of my favorite additions on any of my rifles. I love my Troy M1A/M14 BattleRail! It's build quality is excellent. It mounts up to the gun in a manner that is rock solid. It makes a perfect platform for mounting all manner of optics and accessories.
Pros: Easy to follow installation instructions, excellent build quality, rock solid mount to rifle and for optics and accessories
Cons: None that I've found.
Rail with the Archangel stock
I bought this for my Springfield M1a1 with an Archangel stock. Took a little less than an hour to install, after Duracoating it FDE to match the stock. Because it mounts to the rear sight attachment point, you lose the nice rear sights. The height of the rail requires a cheek riser. One of the nice things about it, is that my Krieger 24 in. match barrel runs much cooler, then with the stock hand guard. I also get 12,3,6 and 9 o'clock rails to mount whatever on. It does weigh in at 2 lbs. and changes the balance of the piece but that is a small price to pay, for a rock solid, scope mount, that you can actually drop and keep your zero.
Pros:
- well made.
- Ease of install.
- Cooler barrel.
- Solid scope mount.
Cons:
- A bit heavy.
- Rail height.
- You lose the iron sights.
Best Used for:
- Hunting, LRS, tactical shooting.

Solid rail
I bought this rail to use on a Springfield M1A Loaded. The rail was fairly easy to install, although you do need to remove your flash hider and gas lock. The rail looks very clean with the wood stock, as it only replaces the fiberglass top handguard.
Pros:
- Solid mounting system that attaches in three points to the upper receiver
- Adds rails to the top and sides
- Fairly easy to install (<1 hour labor)
Cons:
- The flat top puts optics VERY high above the stock, so using a check riser is essential for getting a decent cheek weld
- The rail mounts to the rear sight base, so you lose the stock M1A irons
- No bottom rail means no mounting points for a bipod. The only side mounted bipods from reputable companies I have found are the VLTOR Modpods, which are prohibitively expensive.
Pros:
- Solid mounting system that attaches in three points to the upper receiver
- Adds rails to the top and sides
- Fairly easy to install (<1 hour labor)
Cons:

Pros:
- Easy to install
- Versatile
- solid
Cons:
- must have cheek riser
- doesn't allow for bipods
- no iron sights

This is a must have if you are planning on using a convsersion stock or Arch Angel. It gives you the rails to mount everything you need. It is a very tight and solid fit. It takes a little work to get it on but is worth it. Make sure you have the right tools when starting this project.
Pros:
- Room for attachments.
- Tight and solid fit.
- Looks awesome.
Cons:
- Pricey
Best Used for:
- Upgrading.

Battlerail
I searched high and low for the Troy Battlerail. That was until a buddy told me about Opticsplanet. I ordered my part the next day. Not only was the Troy Battlerail cheaper but I had it in hand 2 days later. Extremely satisfied with my purchase. Installation was easier than expected but I did have to buy a new tool. My M1A looks sinister now.
Pros:
- Lower price, ease of installation, looks great,
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Mounting optics,

Good mount but....
This mount is solid and high-quality, however it does not fit onto an M1A with unitized gas system. It would have been nice to know this before getting my gun disassembled to that point and realizing I needed to purchase more parts to make it fit. As long as you know this going in, you won't be disappointed.
Pros:
- High quality
Cons:
- Does not fit unitized gas system

Troy M1A-M14 Battlerail Review
Great product! Once installed, the thing is strong as can be. Word of advice, make sure you have a gas wrench and a pair of castle nut pliers. If you have disassembled your m1a, this shouldn't be an issue. If your weapon is new, those nuts/bolts are factory tight. The instructions that come with the product won't tell you that these tools are needed.

Solid platform for mounting optics and accessories.
This rail will raise your line of sight and requires removal of the front and rear sights but provides a rigid platform for mounting optics without worries of movement. Allows mounting of all AR piccatiny and weaver style accessories. I you would buy again.

Great rail at a good price
Don't buy a cheap mount for accuracy, the weight it adds is worth it and don't forget to get all the tools to take down your m1a/m14, flash surprresor wrench is a must and don't forget the lock tight.
