Well thought out, lightweight pants
I've been wearing these 24/7 Ascent pants on a regular basis for a little less than a year now and have had nothing but good things to say about them. They've been worn for everything from 3Gun matches to hikes and the unique features, as well as the construction of the pant itself have been pushed to what I'd consider to be the ultimate test.
There's really only one negative thing I can say and I'll get that out of the way right now, sizing. The sizes run a little bigger than I'm used to. For me, I normally wear a size 32 waist and after ordering the 32's in these pants they're a little to big for my liking. After dropping down to a size 30, they fit like a glove. WORD OF ADVICE!!! Order one waist size smaller.
Ok now on to what I like about the pants.
Color. I have these in the coyote colorway and have to say it goes extremely well with most of the colored tshirts or jackets I own. To me its the perfect hue and I have to give Tru-spec some credit for getting it right.
Construction. Built from a 65% polyester and 35% cotton rip stop, they're not only tough enough to withstand crawling around through brush or scraping hard surfaces but they also have a generous amount of stretch to the material to allow an huge range of motion.
Finish. The water repelling finish/treatment on them keeps stains away and also leaves your legs dry under light rain/snow.
Pocket Layout. I don't know about you but Im not a fan of pants with a million pockets with no real though put into their ...

inseam length runs long
Inseam length runs long. I usually wear a 30" inseam and the 30" length was more like a 32".
I had to get the pants shortened. I do like all the features/design of the pants. I'm not a fan of Velcro, so I wish there were snaps instead.

Great pants!
I recently purchased two more pairs of these pants. I went to these pants again, because the other four I have I love. I had to have different colors for different agencies, so it was a no-brainer when it came getting more.
Very comfortable, light weight. Yet, durable, liquids bead off and no staining. The price here can't be beat either. May places want in the $70 range for this pant. Highly recommended. I use them as a station/EMT/Firefighter pant. The cargo pockets are just big enough, without being so big they are cumbersome. Again, super comfortable be we worn day after day.

Ascent Pants by TruSpec
I'm a pant officionado. I've tried them all, from Crye Precision to Arcteryx. Price does not always equate to superior quality. TruSpec Ascent pants are the best pants I've owned. The material is very tough and lightweight. It doesn't perl like my Crye's did after a few washes, and its color doesn't dull. They truly are water resistant. If I get my Crye's wet there will be a wet patch on them until it dries out. If I get the Ascent pants wet the water just brushes off, no wet patch. The belt loops are thicker and more durable than Cryes. Plus they have a badge holder in one of the belt loops. The pockets are designed exceptionally. The cell phone pockets are amazing. They fit my Samsung Galaxy 5. I have two phones, one for work, one for personal use. I put one in each pocket and they fit snug, while keeping the rain out pretty well without having a flap (which can be fiddly to get undone in a rush). I can grab either phone in a hurry without fumbling through velcro flaps. And I don't have to worry about them getting wet in the rain. In a true down pour I would transfer them to the deeper, flapped velcro thigh pockets. The elastic waist band means that if your waist expands slightly when you go from sitting to standing that the waistband will comfortably accomodate for that. This is a feature that Crye Precision don't have. I compare these pants to Crye's because I considered Crye's to be top of the range. I paid about $180 for my Crye G3 tactical pants. ...
