Careful on the fit
Many of the reviews I've read on this vest talk about the enormous sizing. Because of that I decided to try a medium, even though I am 6' 4" tall and 230 lbs. I was surprised to find even at my size, the medium was large enough to wear over a sweatshirt. However, the first time I carried stuff, I realized that everything you put in the pockets makes the vest a little more snug. That's the price you pay for the sleek look, compared to something like a photographer's vest or fisherman's vest in which the pockets stick out all the time, even empty.
I suggest if you buy one of these, you load it ...

Versatile Hard use Gear...
Will be using this new vest under a suit jacket - glad I ordered one size smaller. Pocket configurations are good and draw string on waist seem is a great touch. Internal lower back conceal carry is good as well. Design of pocket flaps allow for 'no look' (and more quiet) opening for quick grab...apart from other solid 'flat' style flaps that get caught up on hook-loop on other side of pocket. Mandarin neck style is great for multiple reasons - can be folded down (over suit shirt/tie for very low key professional look. Then back up for dust/contaminants/cold situations. High Quality product - very well designed and different from other 'quick shooter' vests. This is more low key yet very functional. Only issue is that I used flat black paint to cover brass colored neck flap buttons!
Pros:
- Low profile, wrap around design
- can accomadate primary (carbine) and a sidearm.
Cons:
- None

review of Tru-Spec 24-7 Tactical Vest
This vest is truly well-designed, well-constructed, and a great value. When I first lifted it from the package, I thought "Oh man, this will be too hot for summer'. But no, once you put it on, it is light, with easy-access cargo pockets, comfortable, and it not only looks good just as a well-fitted piece of sporting wear, it functions superbly for concealed carry.
I own a Glock 30-sf (.45 ACP), and until now have carried it concealed very nicely in a paddle holster with an overgarment. The beauty of this vest is that it is long enough to be very effective at erasing the imprint of a weapon carried in an OWB or IWB holster placed in any position around your belt line, as well as providing four secure and accessible reinforced cargo pockets (two on each side, upper and lower) for concealed carry in the vest itself, with equal weapon outline concealment for all choices of carry, and no sagging on one side of the vest from the weight of the gun.
I'm not an easy person to impress, but this vest is every bit as versatile, stylish, and (so far) durable as is advertised. I'm very pleased to have it for possible wear year-round.

Shafee's Review: Tru-Spec 24-7 Tactical Vest
This vest is a life saver! I have two of these- black and khaki. Planning on buying another 1 or 2 soon enough. I hope they produce one in the color white as well- what I actually need. I love the amount of pockets as most of them come in handy for work and play. For me it works for every during season, hot, cold, and even indoors. Awareness of personal property can be deployed for use at an instance by acknowledging it's pocket placement. Love the chest pockets for document storage. The fabric is extremely durable- ripstop stitching with teflon coating. Looks sleek and feel waterproof (outer side). It has mandarin collar when zipped up, and suit-coat collar when unzipped. I have read other reviews stating size large feel like x-large: This is somewhat true. I wish they had multiple buttons locations to snap on for form-fitting comfort, so it's not baggy or too loose. Although, this offset sizing is perfect for me as I weight lift. Aside from that, I am very satisfied with my purchases of this vest and delivery was on time! I do hope they produce one in the color white. - S.

Great vest
Ok, so I purchased this vest to replace a 5.11 cover vest which it does admirably. I've had it for about 2 months so I can't comment on long term durability, but the construction quality is excellent. I like the pocket setup, it seems like every time I wear out I'm finding new pockets. But I do wish the right side had the two upper chest pockets to match the left side. That would improve utility, I think. Overall I really dig this vest as I have all of the tru spec stuff I've tried so far.
Pros:
- Lots of storage
- Great Fit
Cons:
- Asymmetrical pocket arrangement
Best Used for:
- Casual concealed carry garment

Very nice, but..
I'm 5'9" 180 medium build and the small fits very well. I also have a medium size which is so big, I can wear a parka under it (not what I was intending to do).
On the small size, a little more underarm room would be nice, or adding a fabric that stretches might help. Reason, if wearing a sweat shirt underneath, it's kind of tight.
About the look, much less "tac-looking" as you might think in black. I also own a tan vest which to m
e, is a bit more military-ish. Not a bad thing, just pointing it out.
Black vs. tan - black is sleek and looks like an every day vest, but watch out for lint. It's like a lint magnet x's 10. No prob with the tan vest (same brand). Also, I think because the tan vest has black zipper pulls, that adds to its less "incognito" look.
About function, love all of the pockets. I carry a .380 + 2 mags. I find it comfortable to carry either in the chest pockets, or the hand pockets. However, since the hand pockets are lined with mesh, if you take your vest off in public, just know that your weapon might be slightly visible for a few moments.
Overall, very pleased. Gives me a really good option to carry and has reasonable access compared to trying to dig through winter layers.
If a full sleeve/jacket version were available (didn't see one) I would have ordered one of those too.
Hope this helps.

Great multi-use vest
Great little vest I picked up for traveling, cycling and camping mostly. What made me buy it, is the great look it offers and the hydration pocket in the rear. Chose black so the pockets and zippers wouldn't be as visible. Granted that does make it a little warmer, but luckily the vest offers great cooling through the mesh lining it has in certain areas.
Pros: lots of pockets and modularity
Cons: non-standard hydration pack
