Fits Shield 1.0 - Shield Plus
This barrel is for the Shield 1.0, Shield 2.0, and Shield Plus ONLY. It is not for the Shield EZ! The other review didn't read, made a mistake and ordered the wrong barrel for his Shield EZ, and then leave TWO bad reviews.

Not Overly Impressed
The new barrel looked good and was easy enough to install into the Shield Plus. Prior to break-in, it caused the slide to lock to the rear almost every time I charged the pistol.
On range day, it took every bit of 200 rounds (which is the recommended break-in count from what I've read online) to b...

Renders weapon useless when installed.
The barrel installation and reassembly of my M&P 9 Shield Plus went smoothly until I racked the slide, and that's when the problems started. When the slide is racked, it and the barrel lock. The only way I found to get them unlocked was to either insert a loaded magazine or to put rearward pressure on the slide while putting downward pressure on the muzzle. Intentionally locking the slide, for disassembly, is a little tricky because pulling the slide back just a fraction too far will result in another lockup. I tried this process several times with the same results. I returned it and ordered a replacement, thinking maybe it was just a one off, but the results were again, the same.
I bought a Faxon barrel initially and it worked flawlessly when racking the slide but a 9mm guide rod would not pass through it, to check suppressor alignment. Needless to say I returned it and bought the True Precision barrel. Smith & Wesson hasn't shown any stock for their threaded barrels for months, so I'm at a loss for finding a barrel for now.
The Optics Planet return process was very easy to follow, thank goodness.

TP True Precision Barrel
Love the color bronze and makes a huge difference to the look of my gun. Shoots super accurate, only a small amount of wear after 500 rounds. Very happy with this purchase.

Fits perfect. Color is solid.
Got the Gold SW MP Shield Plus threaded barrel. Easy install. fits perfect. The color is also great, i’ve noticed other brands would sell a more yellowish gold color, but this one was perfect and not as yellow looking.
Pros:
- fits perfectly

- None

S&W M&P Shield Plus Treaded Barrel
My new threaded barrel is even more accurate and recoil is noticeably less than the stock barrel. My Shield was a sweet shooter before the barrel change, but now it’s even sweeter!!! And it looks great too. Highly recommended switching stock barrel for Optics Planet custom threaded barrel.

Threaded Barrel
The True Precision Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9 Threaded Barrel is a perfect fit and an awesome way to add a touch of customization to your gun. I was initially only interested in adding a threaded barrel (also considered purchasing a new gun with threaded barrel), but took the opportunity to add a little color. I chose the gold version and the contrast looks fantastic. I would rate my guns skills as a novice, but this barrel can be swapped out in about 30 seconds. Really cool and I'm happy with this purchase.
Pros:
- Exact Fit
- color customization
- added threaded barrel vs OEM
Cons:
- None

With a warning
I gave 2 stars it would have been 3 but it costs me 140.00 dollars to fit the barrel to my handgun. It was not a drop in for my sw&mp sheild, it needed modifications and a chamber cover. The Smith test fired the handgun after the work performed.I would have been better off buying a new handgun that came with the threaded barrel, I would have had Smith wesson life time warranty. Now I probably don't have this warranty which I have to live with. My mistake I should listened to my gunsmith.

Read many reviews before making this purchase. Should have come installed from the S&W factory. Super clean finish and easy drop in. I also added the True comp such a clean look and fit.

Black Nitride for S&W Shield Plus
Out of the box. The same day. I installed into my Handgun. Oil the needed area. Fired a Box of 50 rounds and some of my carry rounds HST and Hornady Critical Defense. NO Issues at all. Very happy with the new Barrel. Very Accurate 20 yards hitting 12 oz cans. Also 3 1/2 inch Barrel for better Ballistics. I bought the Barrel for this reason. Now over 200 round fired. Still no issues.
Pros:
- High qaulity
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- CCW
