Most Helpful Positive Review Great Buy
As noted in other reviews, when adjusting the reostat, at the lower end the light source started to flicker and go off prior to the designated end, but also mentioned in other reviews was the fix, unscrew the battery cap and delicately adjust (pull out) the battery contacts so that they make good co...

Most Helpful Negative Review TruGlo TG8030MB2 just OK
I bought this scope at the same time I bought my S&W 15-22. I didn't put a lot of thought into the scope. It is easy to mount on picatinny rails, easy to sight, seems to hold a zero. I like the choice of red or green, and four different reticles. The problem is the zero changes when you change retic...

what is the point

by pyro, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on October 30, 2016
this is supposed to be a close to medium range optic so why is its FOV worse than a 4-14x long range scope that has a smaller objective lens? I see no point to an optic with such a small FOV that targets within the intended use range take up the whole view
Pros:
  • literally none
Cons:
  • Small FOV
  • poor visibility
Best Used for:
  • wasting money

TruGlo 42mm

by Ghostly, from AZ, United States Written on May 15, 2016
I bought this optic for my wife's AR platform, it mounted quickly and easily. The instructions for use and operation were clear and easy to understand. I took it to the local range to sight it in. Iith no bore sighting the first two rounds at 25 yards were about 10 inches low and 6 inches left. It took only 8 rounds to walk it into the x-ring. I moved the target out to 50 yards adjusted and put 20 rounds inside the ten-ring. I put up four six inch bullseye targets at 100 yards with one round on each, 3x's and 1 10-ring. I put another 8o rounds through it and was rough with the rifle. It held zero.

I did not try switching from one reticle to another to see if impact points changed, but I may try that next time out.

I also experienced a small defect. The rubber retention ring for the elevation adjustment cap was so tight to its fitting it broke just by unscrewing the cap.

All in all, I have found that at least preliminarily this optic meets my expectations and lives up to its advertisement.

I would recommend this optic for a weapon that probably won't see significant use, at least until it gets some heavier use.

Tasco 2x Reflex (Red Dot) Sight

by Boomer, from IL, United States Written on February 1, 2015
I really like this sight. 2x reflex sights are not common - but make a lot of sense to me - especially for a short rifle. I get the quickness of a reflex design, but with much greater visibility of distant targets. Field of view and eye relief are only very slightly compromised. Tasco gave this sight a lot of features for the money, too.

Optics Planet offered a more than competitive price, and their service was outstanding. They shipped the same day I ordered; which is what more companies should do!

I would not hesitate to buy another Tasco product, and will definitely be buying again from Optics Planet!

fast delivery and easy to setup.i put it on a jr carbine in 40s&w.get your first few shots on paper within 25 yds and you'll use alot less ammo from farther back while fine tuning.haven't tried switching the reticules to see if they hold the zero setting but what i set it on holds it's zero.i'm very happy with this item.
Pros: easy to install-easy to sight in.
Cons: ...more batteries to maintain...

TruGlo 42mm Red Dot Sights

by Rick, Verified Owner from AL, United States Written on July 12, 2010
I easily shot 2 to 4 MOA groups with this sight. It is easy to set up and use. I did notice that once zeroed you shouldn't change the type of reticle as it seems to change the zero slightly. No big deal, I just use the red dot anyway. Good product for the money.
Pros: Good quality, quick easy set up, accurate
Cons: looses zero if you change reticle type
