Orlandoech's Review of TruGlo Tru-Tec 2 MOA Reticle 20mm Red Dot Sight
-------------------------------
OVERVIEW
-------------------------------
I received this RDS from TRUGLO in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. Secondly, I have purchased several TRUGLO products; from Iron Night Sights, Red Dots, and Scopes prior to receiving this product so I have experience with several of their products as an actual consumer.
The TRUGLO TG8120BN has to be my favorite RDS from TRUGLO to date for several reasons.
1. The sight is also programmed to turn on when it senses movement.
2. The sight is also programmed to turn off after 8 hours.
3. 20mm objective lens.
4. Shock resistant to 1000g.
5. Wide FOV.
6. Waterproof & fogproof.
The TRUGLO TG8120BN comes with a THREE YEAR Limited Warranty.

BUILD QUALITY & MOUNTING
-------------------------------
While this is one of the better TRUGLO RDS optics (IMO), keep in mind that this is a budget-friendly RDS, not an upper echelon RDS like EOTECH, AIMPOINT, etc. For the price amount of this RDS, do not expect it to hold up and be as durable as those optics. With that in mind, overall the build quality is good. I no real qualms with it as I don't run, fall, crawl, dive, dip, dodge into mud or any sort of terrain that would require me to have a top of the line optic. I simply use this on AR15 rifle for recreational use both indoors and outdoors; nor have I dropped my AR purposely or accidentally to see how the optic holds up.
The TRUGLO TG8120BN is very lightweight with a compact design that isn't considered "micro" nor is it too large and cumbersome or smaller rifles, shotguns, etc. I have it mounted to a S&W M&P AR15 and it does not overwhelm the rifle with it's size which is great.
The TRUGLO TG8120BN comes with an Integrated Weaver/Picatinny-style mounting system so a separately purchased mount is not needed by any mean. It is ready to go. For the price, I really like this RDS for rec and/or HD use and would recommend it based off my actual experience with it.

AUTO-ON & OFF FUNCTION
-------------------------------
ON: Press either brightness button (“+” or “-”) to turn on the sight. The sight is also programmed to turn on when it senses movement.
OFF: The auto-off function can be set from 2 to 8 hours (the factory default is 8 hours). To change this setting, press the “+” brightness button for 3-4 seconds. The red-dot will then blink once for each hour of the current setting (8 blinks = 8 hours). Next, press the “+“ or “-” brightness buttons to increase or decrease the time setting (each press equals one hour). To complete this process, press the “+” brightness button for 3-4 seconds.

ZEROING & STAYING TRUE
-------------------------------
I've zeroed several optics and RDS' in the past and was easily able to zero in the TRUGLO TG8120BN in 5-7 rounds. The Elevation and Windage adjustments are crisp and I can feel each individual click which is nice, considering the price of this optic.
One click of elevation or windage moves the Point of Impact (POI) approximately 1/2 MOA (1/2'' at a distance of 100 yards or 1/4'' at 50 yards, etc.).
After firing several hundred rounds through my AR15, storing my AR, traveling with my AR, then heading back to the range, the The TRUGLO TG8120BN has stayed true to it's zero and I have not had to adjust it from my original zero at 100 yards.
-------------------------------
WINDOW, RETICLE, & BIRGHTNESS
-------------------------------
The lens objective is 20mm, within the optic it uses a 2 MOA reticle pattern for precision aiming and fast target acquisition. Per TRUGLO the TRUGLO TG8120BN RDSY sight has been carefully set to have a minimum parallax at 50 yards. At distances significantly greater or less than this distance, some parallax will be observed so do not be alarmed. To reduce the possibility of a Point of Impact (POI) shift caused by parallax, the reticle should be kept in the middle 2/3 of the field of view when aiming.
There is a wide FOV with unlimited eye relief which is extremely nice to have in any optic.
There is only one reticle pattern choice, which is 2 MOA in size and only one color choice for the reticle (red). The reticle has multiple brightness settings/choices with digital push buttons to adjust.
