Gas port too small.
Normal gas port range is .088-.095 for ARs and this one is .081 as it says in the specs and it's short stroking in my upper. I didn't measure it when it arrived and just put the upper together and went to the range and it's a single shot as of now. I recognized the cause right away cuz I had the sam...

Trybe 18" barrel
I bought this barrel because the specs all true but the weight..I was about to junked it after 3 bad trips to the range with different ammos.. on the fourth trip I took some pmc 62g xtac and viola, bottom line a lengthy break in and its tolerances are tight .
Pretty decent for the price
Bought this one on sale as a Christmas gift, figuring that -- good or bad -- it wouldn't be my concern. Well, it is actually quite a nice barrel for the price, at 58 bucks I would have no problems buying more of them.
It has been mentioned that it is not dimpled for the gas block. I don't see this is a problem. It lets me buy any gas block I want, not just one that happens to fit. A dimpling jig is only $25 and I saved way more than that on the barrel price.
Would I use it for competition shooting? Certainly not. But I'd have no hesitation about taking it out deer hunting and expecting the shot to land where I aim.

18" rifle length barrel by trybe
i ordered one of these barrels which i installed in a upper everything fit fine , has strong 5r profile. slick finish and seemed to be correct in the chamber. now the gas port looks a bit large --however a rifle uses a pretty big port and the reduction in dwell adds a tiny bit more to the ports size so i think it will be OK the second barrel is identical to the first-- now i haven't fired either of um as of yet--but they certainly looking good so far--

Magnificent Quality
I searched high and low for a nice quality 223 Wylde barrel and Optics Planet came through. This is truly an unbeatable barrel at this price point and as usual free shipping. I've not fully broken it in yet but it shoots great and in time I have no doubt it will perform

Update- Gas port is huge.
So I took the upper apart and measured the gas port and turns out the .081 spec in the product description is totally wrong. Measured with calipers the port is .095-.096 which is as big as you can get on an AR. I ordered an adjustable gas block and will be hitting the range to see if it was actually overgased and just seemed to be undergased. I will check the brass for cloudy/dull appearance , ejection pattern and 1 round magazine test like I should have done on my first range trip and go from there. I sort of like the trouble shooting aspect of AR building so it's no big deal but It's nice when a build just works.

Pleasantly Surprised
Have owned this barrel for about 6 months now. Well over 1000 rounds through I think. Has cycled extremely well so far, no jamming. Dimpled myself and used 62g Winchester rounds. I'm a good shot, but accuracy still improved compared to stock AP barrel. Measured grouping of 0.8-2.25 MOA @ 100 yds. Not as heavy as my Criterion, but still solid. Honestly for the price I am very happy with this barrel. Would recommend
Pros:
- Lightweight
- good price
- Accurate
Cons:
- basic packaging
- not dimpled for gas block
Best Used for:
- hunting, home defense

Very disappointed with this barrel
I shouldn’t have purchased this barrel. I usually stick with Ballistic Advantage or FN barrels. It looks nice and is finished well but I can’t get a sub MOA group with anything. Two different Sierra match bullets will come close but regular 55 grn 5.56 or .223 ammo is 3 MOA at best. Also groups open up and shift all over the place when it heats up. Lesson learned, I’ll pull it and replace it with a better barrel eventually.
Pros:
- Looks nice
Cons:
- Poi will change a bit when hot
- Mediocre at best
Best Used for:
- Learning a lesson the hard way
