Most Helpful Positive Review great red-dot
I have a 20 year-old ultra-dot and 2 new ones. The red-dot is round and the brightness works well for indoor and outdoor shooting. Their Customer Service is excellent. Pros: a lot better than the Bushnell Cons: none
Most Helpful Negative Review SP1 red dot
I put scope on ruger 22 revolver. works ok. big problem there is no sun filter. just about unusable on a sunny day. I did not put it on my redhawk 44. cheap red dot. . .

Works Great!

by DC, Verified Owner from NY, United States Written on November 30, 2023
Decent optical clarity, 4moa Dot does not distort with astigmatism as easily as the 2moa dot in the ultradot 2

Good for the Price

by Grem, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on July 12, 2021
I picked this up to replace my reflex sight for precision bullseye shooting. I like the tube and the different brightness settings are easy to change and work as described. I got the 25mm due to the weight. If there was a 30mm in the same weight I would have gone with it. Overall I would say I’m happy with the purchase.
Pros:
  • Price
  • Weight
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Precicion target shooting

Works well

by Tom, from PA, United States Written on June 22, 2020
This is the second one I have purchased. The first is mounted on my.454 no problems. I would definitely recommend this. I don't mind giving a product review but I dislike having how long it is If this isn't enough delete it.

Ultra dot 25

by Josh, from MO, United States Written on February 4, 2020
Put this on my ruger super black hawk 44 mag about 300 rounds in and it’s great! The 1-11 brightness setting are a bit much not sure why you would ever use it that bright but is what it is. The adjustment was nice, wish the “ click” was a little more firm.
Pros:
  • Worth the money
Cons:
  • none really

Ultradot is great for heavy recoil revolvers

by adbhowler, from CO, United States Written on August 29, 2018
I have this scope on my Ruger SRH 454 Casull and now my Magnum Research 500JRH. The one on the 454 has survived a couple thousand full house loads with zero issues. I bought one for my 500 JRH because of its performance on the 454 and have been very please. No issues on the 500 JRH with 300 rounds and counting. Have had to keep any eye on the scope rings but that is another issue. Great scope for hand cannons and I highly recommend it.
Pros:
  • Sturdy
  • Clear Sight Picture
  • afforable
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • heavy recoiling revolvers
Would recommend: Yes

Had this site for 4 years on my SRH 454 Casull

by adbhowler, from CO, United States Written on July 27, 2018
Just an update on the sturdiness of this scope. I have fired over 3000 full house 300gr 454 Casull loads through my SRH with this scope and have had ZERO issues. In fact, the gun broke at about 1200 and I had to send it into Ruger for repair, but the scope is till ticking. It has never lost its ZERO and have had no other issues with this optic. Highly recommend this for the heavy recoil hand-cannons and I am buying another one for my new dinosaur killer, a Magnum Research BFR in 500 JRH.

  • Magnum Revolvers

Compact perfect for MiniThirty 7.62x39

by Phillip, from TX, United States Written on February 4, 2018
I have been looking for Red Dot with a 1 inch tube for my MiniThiry for years, (most are all use picatinny rails) because Ruger Rings are the only way to mount any optic low to bore on this rifle(Thanks to Ruger) and 30mm is just too bulky and heavy for this short little power house 7.62x39 Ranch Rifle. Now that I got this red dot, I can see the front sight in lower part of the scope, and the red dot is clear and it doesn't turn into several dots as the cheaper red dots tend to do. This is a good one, and it does come in 30 mm tube if you want a bigger sight picture. It also has a screw on extension sun shade and a polarizer to reduce glare for when it is bright out. Nice rig
Pros:
  • compact
  • quality red dot
  • polarizer and sun shade
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • best less than 100 yards

My second one!

by Jim, from ID, United States Written on December 26, 2017
I mounted one of these on my Ruger Mark III Hunter Target, and really liked it. It fits down snug to the receiver/barrel, and at pistol distance from my eye gives a bright small dot, which doesn't obscure a small target. The finish matches the stainless steel well. Its size does not overpower the look of the pistol. I like so well I added another to my Ruger Mark IV Hunter/Target. It comes with rings ready to mount on the Ruger rail.
Pros:
  • comes with rings
  • mounts low on picatinney rail
Cons:
  • none so far
Best Used for:
  • pistol mount

25mm red dot sight

by nightcrawler, from CA, United States Written on November 20, 2017
this one had to go back. the red dot looked more like a bug on a windshield than a dot. it happens, iv'e had to send brand new ruger handguns to the gunsmith. i have two other ultra dots that are great. yes i would try again on this product. see my review on sept 29, 2015. the one star is for this sight alone and not the ultra dot products as a whole. i have found ultra dot people pleasant to deal with, the reason i said yes recommending this product.
Pros:
  • Versital
  • Fast acquisition
  • large field of view
Cons:
  • sometime you get a bad one
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • target
  • Tactical

Rugged dot

by JC, from PA, United States Written on May 16, 2017
If you are going to mount a dot scope on the slide of your bullseye 1911 45ACP this is the one you want. It is the only one I recommend. It is rugged enough to take the slamming back and forth and it will hold it's settings.
