Yhe UD Apollo S is a very effective brake. Targets now stay in the scope during recoil. Pay attention to having the recommended length of thread under your tread protector. I had to time my brake without the timing nut due to insufficient threads. A gunsmith can easily do this if you can not. Super satisfied with the performance and appearance. Highly recommend.
Cons:
- Louder and clears bench of light objects
Best Used for:
- Target shooting and follow up shots

I ordered this compensator based on other comments. The part fit properly and looks good. I am going to the range next week and expect it to work well. I will report as to the effectiveness after that..

Superbly made, finished and functioning. The best muzzle brake I have ever used...no gas downward to stir up dust/sand. Eliminates recoil completely with 62 grain, moving at about 2,950 fps...and importantly has no...no movement of barrel right or left. Second shot can take place in less than 2 seconds. If you are shooting at dangerous game, at close range, repetitive shots can be fired with no muzzle rise or deflection right of left of the barrel. The ultimate tool to keep you safe while fly fishing in northern Idaho.
Pros:
- Superb function, small and light weight.
Best Used for:
- Rapid repeat shots on target.

This went on a Savage Axis II Precision in .223 Remington. Although there is not much felt recoil to begin with the scope stayed on target and the rifle was a pleasure to shoot. Quick and easy to install and looks good on the rifle.

Does the job to reduce recoil and allows you to get back on target much quicker. I tried it on all 5 of my 5.56’s and it worked great on each one. Am waiting to try it on my 3 different 22’s but don’t plan on much change there.

Looked nice but if they don’t get the threads right then it’s just a paperweight. I ordered 5/8-24 and it wouldn’t fit any of my three different 5/8-24 barrels. It came close to damaging the threads on my barrels.

I mounted the Apollo S on a Tikka CTR in 6.5 Creedmoor. I was hoping to be able to see the "splash" because I couldn't with no brake on the gun. This brake absolutely does as advertised and now I can see the splash if I miss. Yes it is louder and the blow back is substantial and I'll have to be aware of what/who is beside me but this thing really works.
Cons:
- loud and substantial muzzle blast

This was the first comp I have ever used, and I'm impressed. I used it on my standard 16" barrel AR. Yesterday I took it to the range and it makes shooting so pleasant. There is practically no muzzle lift. You can stay on target and fire rounds and you will feel like a pro. The muzzle blast is definitely something you don't want to stand directly next to, especially when you cycle steel through it. It is loud, but not enough that you need double ear pro. It's so easy to attach to the barrel and it looks great too. I am seriously impressed.

Installed one of these on a 6.5 Grendel.
No, it's not too much compensator for Grendel, the volume of gas generated by the cartridge is what makes it work.
Easy install, just follow the directions.
Reduces felt recoil,IMO, to that of a 5.56.
It's not cheap, but you do get what you pay for.
