Most Helpful Positive Review Great alternative to button activation
My range is planning on banning Serpa holster because of all the controversial press about AD's (though I've never had any problems with my Serpas). The Reflex holster got rid of the trigger finger controversy while still providing level II retention. It's brilliant and even easier to use than a Ser...

Most Helpful Negative Review problems between switching between belt slide and paddle
I Bought two of these holsters, I was debating between the fobus roto and the UM reflex. I liked the retention system better on the reflex, but there were a couple things I didn't like. the paddle on the reflex holds the holster farther away from your body then most paddle holsters, also when I tri...

Another safety device that slows presentation

by dd491231, from OR, United States Written on April 7, 2021
Took this holster to Front Sight. Every time I did a presentation from the holster, it required the extra motion of twisting the stock to get it to release. This cost me. The old reliable Uncle Mike's kydex has been taken off the market, leaving only this. I guess it's true... "To get safety, you must sacrifice freedom".
Pros:
  • Won't fall out while standing on your head
Cons:
  • Slows presentation
Best Used for:
  • Dancing

You need this!

by Muttjaco, from TX, United States Written on April 11, 2018
While a bit bulky (you’re not concealing this thing with a t-shirt) this is a GREAT holster. Nobody is getting their hands on your sidearm while it is in this thing. Even if they are aware of how this thing functions the ergonomics prevents any ease of acquisition by anyone besides the wearer. It’s also nice that unlike Serpa type holsters you finger is maintained in a safety position and there is no need to push a button that in my opinion is wayyy too close to the trigger. In a nutshell the odds of accidental discharge are dramatically reduced, especially for newbie carriers. Also seeing as it’s really too big to be a “concealed” carry holster it is well constructed and easy to look at.
Pros:
  • Excellent retention
  • natural engagement of your firearm
  • speedy draw
  • minimized potential of accidental discharge
Cons:
  • Bulky
Best Used for:
  • Open carry
  • New gun carriers
  • holster training
  • firearm retention training

Uncle Mike 's Holster

by Pete, from VA, United States Written on July 10, 2015
I have purchased three other Uncle Mike's Reflex holsters and have used them in 3gun matches. This 1911 holster would not fit a Colt 1911. If I forced the gun in it scraped plastic from the internal retention and wore on the trigger guard. The quality control on this holster sucked. The worse part of the process was I contacted Uncle Mike's and they kept asking for more and more details the after a month of a run around the rep said to try to return it to the retailer.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Poor customer service
  • Poorly built
  • poor quality control

Holster for Beretta 96A1

by Knucklehead, from KS, United States Written on February 14, 2015
Kind of hard to find a paddle holster for the 96A1 with rails. Uncle Mike holster is nice, sturdy and has a built in weapon lock. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because it is difficult to remove the holster from your hip. You have to take your belt and pants off, and work the catches to remove the holster. My other paddle holsters (Fobus) remove much easier.
