Lightened up my chambering strikes on primers

by Lazarus, Verified Owner from MI, United States Written on November 11, 2023
Not normally one for expotic parts. Have my concerns about titanium as a firing pin material.

Used this on an UL build low mass carrier. Did the trick to lighten up the pin strike on the primers as rounds are chambered. Going to a lighter carrier and buffer, had to increase spring power to compensate, which caused the firing pin to put a heavier ding in the primers as rounds were chambered due to faster lock time/closing speed. This solved that issue... still leaves marks, but more like a traditional pin/carrier/buffer system again.

Also did lighten the cycling mass by a few grams, which is a plus in a rifle where the only exotic parts are the magnesium upper/lower/hg. Everything else is steel, aluminum or polmer and the whole gun weighs under 5 lbs bare. Also my first "DLC" coated product, looking forward to exploring the properties of this coating. It was the reason I chose the nore expensive V7 pin over other Ti pins.

Would notmally dock a star for being the most expensive product in its class, but, as its the only one available with a lifetime warranty from a reputable company and a DLC coating, in this case I feel it was worth the cost. It solved my issue, absolutely minimized my cycling mass (on a relative budget) and comes with the backing of one of the more reputable companies in the game, im happy with my purchase and first impressions.

Time will tell if the high speed, low drag ultralight binary rifle will accept this exotic pin or not. Will update if I experien...
