Most Helpful Negative Review Disappointed!!! it's only a 25L pack
The gamut 2.0 is marketed as a 28L pack when it is only a 25L pack. Even on Vertx web sight. But if you call Vertx and verify they will tell you the true specs of this pack. it's sad cuz this pack has been out for quite some time and it's been marketed as such.

One good bag

by TLA, from PA, United States Written on August 13, 2022
I really like this bag,it's nice and solid. The stiching is very strong and the compartments are roomy. Can't beat the price at Optics Planet.I had been looking at this bag for quite some time. When I saw it offered at a decent price I jumped on it.

Vertx Gamut 2.0 Backpack

by ISOWRLDD, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on April 6, 2022
Just overall an amazing bag, great choice for my 10.5 AR pistol. Ready to use as either a edc or just a bag to take your firearm to the range. Also has plenty of compartments for other things you might consider to carry like a medkit, maybe tools or etc. If anyone who’s looking for a great bag for a edc this is recommended 100%

Gamut 2.0 carries everything tactically and discreetly.

by Happy Customer, from AZ, United States Written on August 1, 2021
This pack is amazing. Well thought out and enough room for two 8" folding ar pistols and gear. I would highly recommend this to any of my friends and family. The weight sits comfortably on my back while the padding allows for a nice ride. The gun grab pull feature really allows for extremely easy access. Next up will be the premier body armor to wrap it up nicely.

Vertx Gamut 2.O Backpack

by Orion, Verified Owner from FL, United States Written on March 30, 2021
This is my everyday bag. it goes everywhere with me. it fits perfect. it carries everything i need daily. my only complaint would be the two side pockets once you fit a few items inside the water pocket then becomes snug. The materials is top notch. Have dropped many times and is durable. Easy to open the top cover and grap items right away.
Pros:
  • EDC
  • great everyday bag
  • great get home bay for essential items
  • expandable front flap
Cons:
  • side pockets

great bag, few things i would change

by Deztro69, from NY, United States Written on January 31, 2021
Over all, great. There’s a few small things I would have done differently such as the buttons and zippers and spacing inside but those are all me being picky. Is does get a little bulky once you add in the plate and your accessory’s. Fits comfortably has a stylish look in the Molly is hidden. They came this far they should’ve at least made it waterproof too.
Pros:
  • Size
Cons:
  • bulky accessories systems
Best Used for:
  • EDC / CCW

Durable And Smart Design

by Jack, from CA, United States Written on November 25, 2020
I've had mine for a few months and traveled 4 times. The materials and stitching construction is very durable. Ive dropped and dragged this backpack many times. The layout of functional pockets and spaces are smartly designed. Organization made easy. The thing i've learned is that even though you can over stuff pockets without fear of the stitching or zippers failing, the prob is many pockets have shared walls. So over stuffing one pocket will take up space on the other side of the wall decreasing that space's volume. To add more capacity, when needed, I added a large molle mounted pouch.
When the pack is heavily loaded, the shoulder straps are comfortable and using the hip belt really helps if walking a few miles.
Pros:
  • Durable, quality, smart design, modular
Cons:
  • Not as much storage volume especially if overstuffing some pockets
Best Used for:
  • EDC, day hike, 4 night trip

Really nice, but a few fixes need to be made.

by Joe, Verified Owner from CO, United States Written on September 26, 2020
So overall I think this is a really good backpack. Now that that is out of the way. Some issues do exist with it.
The side pockets are sold as a side pocket and a water bottle holder, but the reality is that it is one or the other. Not both. If you store stuff in the side pocket it bulges into the center of the stretch pocket and you can no longer fit drinks in it. Conversely if you put a water bottle in you can't use the interior storage there. I have no idea how to fix that, but it is a bummer for sure. I ended up using one side pocket for "stuff" and the other for drinks.
The main pocket is not actually all that big honestly. I use this for my EDC and find myself having to make choices on what to pack and what not. For work it is no problem, but when I go out for the day with my little kids it definitely is problematic. I get by without any real issues, but it is something to be aware of. Maybe in the next version you could add stretch materials so you can fit a bit more in there?
On the front of the backpack I have a bunch of stuff, first aid kit (which with littles gets used once in awhlie), pens, my knife, leatherman, flashlight, etc. That is the most useful feature I use. I also like that I can expand it out with the two straps so I can throw in blankets or jackets when the kids abandon them, or even my own coat if I go to work knowing it will be raining later and will need it. The only downside is that when I do not use I find the system for stowing the two straps ...

Gamut 2.0 optics planet edition

by lukesp00k, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on July 30, 2020
The gamut 2.0 in the exclusive optics planet color is awesome. I was a bit worried ordering since its description made it seem larger than the other 2.0s, but I can assure it is the same size. I think they mis-characterized the bag by confusing the size of gallons with the hours. I was torn between this shade and the gray and shock cord color, but this one looks great and inconspicuous. Definitely reccomend. I now use my ready pack for hiking
Pros:
  • Durable, tactical, more molle than ready pack, more compartments for gear.
Cons:
  • slightly on the large end of edc bags, but looks best if you wear at an appropriate hight.
Best Used for:
  • edc, bug out, get home bag. Plenty of space and expandable front flap.

Great EDC pack

by Backpackman5000, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on July 25, 2020
It took forever to get it shipped, but the pack it’s self is great! It’s going to be my dad bag for m newborn. The bag is well made but not completely accurate. Black version says it’s cordura. But only small parts are cordura. A little misleading.
Pros:
  • Comfortable
  • Good organization
Cons:
  • Pricey
