Quality product with a couple issues.
This is my second set of vertx shorts. I have the original version and they are strong/durable for everyday-ware. My main objections are the size, rough texture, and pocket design.
My previous pair were 35W, I purchased 36W this time and it feels smaller than first pair. The flex waist helps but it only stretches probably .5-1 inches.
Due to the nature of the material (ripstop fabric) the texture isn't as soft as i wish it was. My skin is generally semi-sensitive, but after 8 hrs in 113 degree heat the tops of my calves were red from irritation from these shorts. This is probably a mor...

Great fit missing some of the conveniences of the pants
These are very comfortable shorts but I wish they included the zippered pocket in the front pockets, the flashlight pocket on the side of the front pocket (which is ideal for holding a knife as well) and flaps over back pockets. Otherwise its a great deal for the cost. I spilled red wine on them and they washed up great. Vertex makes great products I just wish the cut down there pants and made shorts will all the extras

As good as the pants
I wear the pants on duty and love them. Took these shorts camping. Swam with them and they dried quickly. They took some serious abuse. Were always comfortable and fit well. Total freedom of movement.

Great pair of shorts!
These are very nice shorts. I like the fabric and the inner pockets inside the cargo pockets (that fit my phone and music player perfectly). These are also very comfortable fit-wise and coolness-wise. These would be perfect for any aggressive/hard physical activities, or just as walking shorts. The only negative I have on these shorts is the price. They are kind of expensive.

Vertx shorts
Very light to wear. Fit great. Resistant to stains. Seems like nothing soaks into the material very quickly. Lots of pockets which is great for storing a knife or small flashlight. Have to line dry them but because the material is so light and doesn't soak up water it doesn't take very long.

Favorite Shorts
Very comfortable shorts and I like the way the cargo pockets are designed into the normal lines of the shorts so one doesn't look like a potato smuggler. The right hand side concealed zipper pocket is perfect for concealed carry. And before you dismiss pocket pistols, I carry a compact 1911 in a pocket holster in there. It's very comfortable, and while it's obvious there is something in my pocket, nothing hints what it might be.
