Looking to add a sleek profiled charging handle to your ruger 1022? Look no further. Volquartsen has that market segment covered with the black 1022 charging handle. This charging handle is well a constructed piece that fits the standard carrier and receiever very well. Nice tight fit that is slight...

Not terrible, consider other options
I bought this charging handle/rod assembly after having read lots of good reviews on Volquartsen quality. I will say, the charging handle itself looks good and fits the 10/22 black finish very nicely but that's about all I like on it. For an "extended" charging handle, this one is barely 1-2mm longe...

Smooth action, easy handle
This is worth buying for the aethestics alone, but this offers a much smoother action due to the polished parts compared to the factory parts. The extended handle is excellent too- I can use either hand easily, if needed.
Pros:
- Looks
- smooth action
- Easier manipulation
Cons:
- easy-medium install
Best Used for:
- charging manipulation

Built better than OEM
My OEM handle and spring broke during cleaning. I have to say this part with the new extended handle is so much better than the OEM. If you need a replacement then this is the one to get!
Pros:
- Price
- three springs (light,Heavy,standard)
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- 10/22
Would recommend: Yes

Functional and Practical
Bought this replacement bolt handle as part of a general upgrade of a basic 10/22. Fit and finish is good. Installation is simple. It came with the standard weight recoil spring(installed) as well as light and heavy weight springs to allow fine tuning of bolt speed. Certainly with the price.
Pros:
- Well constructed
Cons:
- None

Get this one if yu are running a bullpup
Very nice quality; the handle feels big and chunky, and it's cylindrical so it works great at the odd angles you have to hit it at if you are running a bullpup stock on your 10/22. The rod is slick and well fitted to the hole it slides in, comes with three different weights of spring, and the fit is tight into the spot of the bolt. Very solid upgrade.

Buy quality
So in building a new Ruger 10/22 in my hast i bought a bolt handle from Amazon for about half the price. You get what you pay for! The Amazon bolt handle kept hanging up. I worked until i broke the handle.
Pros:
- Smooth & Crisp operation
Cons:
- None
Would recommend: Yes
Fits older receivers
I had one or two other extended bolt releases go to waste because they did not have a relief cut on the handle closest to the rod for older relievers that have a ridge (lip, edge?). It caused binding after installing the trigger group. This one is correctly made to fit all 10/22 receiver types. On top of that, it does what it should - gives me better purchase to rack the bolt with a scope attached, and smoother operation than stock. Well worth it.

Don't Trust Volquartsen Factory Part Assembly
I made the mistake of installing this part according to the instructional video, assuming that it had been assembled securely from the factory. It was not. After a number of rounds, the nut that captures the spring loosened, effectively increasing the length of the rod, and trapping it within the receiver. As it was jammed in place with no way to turn the nut for removal, I had to remove the barrel of the rifle to get it out. It caused some minor cosmetic damage to the interior of the receiver and pretty much ruined my brand new Volquartsen extractor. Once the rod had been removed, I tightened the spring capture nut and the rod fit accurately once again. The process was so aggravating that I really want to give the part a lower rating. However, it seems to be a great part. The problem was trusting Volquartsen to deliver it in ready to install condition.
Pros:
- More Comfortable Than Stock Handle
Cons:
- Poor Factory Assembly Caused Malfunction and Damage
Would recommend: Yes
