I needed a long eye relief scope for my 10mm S&W FPC. The rifle doesn't have any rail back far enough to mount a traditional eye relief scope. I wanted a scope rather than a red dot with magnifier. The magnification range of the scope pairs well with the effective range of the 10mm cartridge.
