I would say no unless you are setting up your Marlin with a forward mounted scout scope. The eye relief is too great for a normal mounted scope like on the Marlin 336 I have. Im mounting this on my Heritage 92 that requires a greater eye relief like a scout scope.

I mounted mine on an encore pistol barrel. Eye relief is perfect for handguns. I like the dot illumination. I will buy another one soon.
