Excellent performer!!! - Vortex Crossfire II 2-7x32mm 1in Tube Second Focal Plane Scout Rifle Scope

Works great on my Marlin 336, mounted by way of a Weaver scout base and high Weaver Quad Lock extension rings. It sits completely forward of my rifle's receiver (not that it matters), giving me 10.75" of of optimum eye relief for me from an offhand shooting position. Looks very good, too. The optics are very bright and crystal clear courtesy of it's fast focus eyepiece. At my older age I really appreciate the oversized adjustment turret controls and markings. It's the only scope I own that I can adjust for elevation/windage without needing to dig out my reading glasses! It has a borderline "heavy" duplex reticle which some folks may not like, but personally, I love it (once again, older eyes!). Even so, after zeroing it was shooting into the bullseye at 100 yards, maintaining easy 1 -2" groups.

One issue I noticed is that the sight picture gets squirrely at 2X (tunnels, fish bowls, whatever), but at 2.5 and higher It's a tight sight picture from edge to edge. Not a problem for me because I used 3X to zero and will hunt on that or 4X.

I can't yet speak for durability, but my Vortex Strikefire and SPARC red dot sights have served me problem-free for nearly 10 years. I have no doubts this scope will outlast me!
