Most Helpful Positive Review Excellent Sight for the Money
This is an excellent red dot. For the price point you really can't beat it. Some may complain that you can't go from off to the brightest setting, but I am on the other side of the argument. I like being able to know where I am at with the brightness setting without actually having to look at the...

Most Helpful Negative Review This is a fail by Vortex
With the one I received, you cannot see anything from 1- 6. You faintly start to see a vertical, squiggly-line at around 7. The dial goes from 1-11. And you cannot go backwards. I am a very surprised Vortex would have this type of issue with their product. I hope it's just a bad batch. On a side no...

Great Little Red Dot

by Binor, Verified Owner from TN, United States Written on May 20, 2019
I own several Vortex sights and this little guy is awesome. It mounted it on a Keltec Sub 2000 with a Midwest mount. It only took 9 shots to sight in and after 500 rounds its still perfect! Thanks Opticsplanet, Midwest , and Vortex for a great combination of sight and mount. Try this sight you'll love it...
Pros:
  • Nice and compact
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • any weapon

Handles recoil.

by Lee250, Verified Owner from HI, United States Written on April 9, 2019
I bought this to put on my 500 s&w revolver. I valled vortex before buying and they told me it would handle the recoil and if not it has lifetime warranty. Its been handling the recoil no problem and working great. It would be nice if the power knob could be turned completely around instead of turning it all the way back but it works good anyways.
Pros:
  • Tough and durable
Cons:
  • None

I don’t see the big lure of this brand

by HarleyMan, from TX, United States Written on March 26, 2019
Hi, I don’t see the big lure about this company that everyone gets so crazy about. The red dot is low quality at best. I wish I would of bought another brand because this thing is junk or maybe I got a bad one.

Red dot scope

by Chris, from CA, United States Written on March 19, 2019
Great product for the price. I recommend spending the ten dollars more and going for the upgraded model. This model does not have an automatic shut off and to turn the scope off the dial has to be rotated all the way to 0 when turning off, you cant go from setting 9 to 0 you have to go from 9 to 8 to 7 and so on.
Pros:
  • very easy to site in
Cons:
  • have to turn off manually
Best Used for:
  • carbine rifle

by ryan n, Verified Owner from MN, United States Written on March 18, 2019
I put the vortex crossfire on my cz scorpion evo 3 s1, and its is absolutely awesome. with the taller mount, i can still run my factory iron sights, and the red dot is flawless. its everything you would want in a red dot, and works perfect for a scorpion.

Great product

by Adam C, from NC, United States Written on January 16, 2019
You can’t go wrong with Vottex. Quality piece. Installs in less than a minute. The red dot is crisp on lower settings. It does seems to starburst out a little on the higher settings. Overall very happy. Well built optic. Everything you need right in the box. I would definitely purchase again.
Pros:
  • well built
  • nice controls
  • Easy mount
Cons:
  • Red dot blurs on higher settings

Great value! Fast, fast service...this red dot sight is a great fit for a lot of weapons, not to mention that the price fits most budgets....and, to top it off, you don’t have to wait long to get it. They are extremely fast in shipping, and keep you informed along the way.

As advertised

by Jack, from MD, United States Written on December 18, 2018
Works great everything as advertised easy to use, doesn't weight too much. Easy to adjust windage/elevation and remove battery cap. The only cons are, brightness goes from 0-10 (i think its ten) but the dial stops at the highest setting, so you have to turn it all the way back to turn of the sight. Small inconvenience. This was my first vortex product, before purchasing I emailed and called their customer support with questions and they were relatively fast to respond and very helpful. I will buy Vortex again. Works great with VMX-3T magnifier.
Pros:
  • Clear, easy to use, light
Cons:
  • None

Great red dot sight, espiecially for the price

by Flip, from LA, United States Written on November 6, 2018
I purchased the Crossfire Red Dot sight for a new Aero Precision AR build I just completed. I wanted a decent, but fairly priced red dot as I had spent a good bit on the rifle already. The sight arrived well packaged and in good condition. I attached it to my AR and hit the range to zero it in. I was impressed that it only took 15 rounds to get the sight zero'd in at 50 yds. It has a bright dot, which is saying something as it was a very bright day in south Louisiana. It was also very easy to zero as the caps are used to adjust the sight. Not needing to carry around any other tools you will inevitably lose is a bonus. It does have a smaller field of view compared to a holographic sight, but it was very easy to shoot with both eyes open which negates the smaller sight picture to a great degree. It also worked well at 150 yds when paired with a borrowed EoTech 3x magnifier. I put 750 rds through it that day, many of which were running drills where the weapon was jostled and hit against a few items (my fault, not the guns) and the sight never lost its zero. The only negative I can see is that the lens cover is not attached and I will probably lose it at some point. Overall I was very impressed with the quality of this sight and massively impressed when you factor in the cost. I will recommend this to friends in the future.
Pros:
  • Price and warranty
  • Clarity & construction
  • Glass & turret adjustment
Cons:
  • Lens cover
Best Used for:
  • Anyone who is an occasional shooter, (8-10 times a year) who is on a budget. Or anyone who wants a great red dot for an amazing price price

Vortex Crossfire

by Hawkman, from MD, United States Written on October 26, 2018
This is a awesome little red dot sight. It is small in size but has all the options a basic shooter needs. The unit feels well made and mounts easily to the rail on my built AR. The red dot has multiple setting and is easy to pickup even in bright sun light. I highly recommend this red dot unit. Hoping it last through the abuse I will put it through riding in my work vehicle.
Pros:
  • price, ease of installation, battery comes with sight
Cons:
  • None so far.
