Great spotting scope tripod!
I purchased this tripod to mount an Athlon Ares G2 15-45 65mm spotting scope. The High Country II has been very stable and easy to pack. The pan head has been very smooth and perfect for my scope. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a sub $200 aluminum tripod. I have been very pleased so far!
it's ok but not great.
It holds the scope. Has the quick mounting setup that goes directly to vortex scope. Movement to adjust works well enough. The down fall comes with the legs. It has some gofty tabs to further extend the angle of them. Wouldn't work well wearing gloves. Would be a very nice tripod for the deck or someplace it doesn't need to be adjusted all the time.

quality at cost
Tripod appears durable and functional while being more cost effective than other brands. Havent gotten to beat it up out in the mountains yet but so far im very happy.

Vortex High Country II Tripod
Great tripod. Built like a tank and very sturdy. I am using it for a Vortex Crossfire 20x60 80 spotting scope and it handles the weight well. Very easy to adjust and the Arca Swiss mounting plate makes mounting the scope easy. No additional mounting plate needed. Worth the money.
Pros:
- Very stable and easy to adjust.
Cons:
- A little heavy to pack on a backpacking trip.
Best Used for:
- Range. Hunting. Competition
- Range, hunting, competitive shooting.

Vortex High Country Ii Tripod
I bought this as a dedicated tripod for my spotting scope so I wouldn’t have to switch back and forth to one of my camera tripods. The High Country II is at least as good as my much-more-expensive Manfrottos. The leg lever locks on the Vortex are especially secure and easy to use, and the tripod is rock solid. This is the perfect tripod for a heavy spotting scope.

Great Tripod by Vortex
The tripod is well built and stable. I use this with my Vortex Razor spotting scope and the height is just right. It came with a carrying case which is nice.

Vortex High Country II Tripod
Very well made, sturdy, and perfect size for scope viewing while standing, sitting, or prone position. Flip lock legs are easy to manipulate and hold securely. Excellent fit and finish. ARCA-SWISS mount holds heavy 20-60 X85 spotting scope securely and steady. Folds down to easy to pack and carry size.

Vortex High Country II Tripod
Very nice mid-range priced tripod. Firing range use only so weight is not an issue especially compared to carbon fiber models at twice or three times the cost. Perfect height for scoping standing up (I’m 6’- 2”) and will go low enough for scoping from prone position. Flip-lock leg extensions are easy to operate and hold very securely. Holds my Vortex Viper HD 20-60X85 angled very steady including pan-tilt positions. My first experience using Arca-Swiss type mount and I’m pleased with its ease of use and secure holding power.
Pros:
- Perfect size for standing or prone scoping. Very sturdy for heavy or expensive optics. Not cheap but not cheaply made.
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Scoping from standing, sitting, or prone position.
