Most Helpful Positive Review Vortex Optics ADR-X Cantilever Mount
This scope mount is a re-branded AD-RECON-X manufactured by American Defense Mfg. I mounted my Leupold Mark 4 scope to this mount which used to be mounted to my AR with standard scope rings. The scope mount is aluminum with an anodized finish and the machining and overall construction are excellent. I love the quick detach levers which have a lock that must be pushed in to unlock the levers - this eliminates accidentally unlocking the levers if it snags on gear or clothing. Adjustment for the quick detach rail mount is super easy and doesn't really need tools. I've taken my AR shooting with th...

Just what I needed

by JWeb, Verified Owner from IN, United States Written on April 19, 2017
This is exactly what I needed to get the proper eye relief using a Vortex Strike Eagle on my Colt AR. With the 3-inch offset, the scope is further forward where I needed it to be. QR feature will be nice if I decide to add folding iron sights. I would have given 5 stars if it had not been for a slight problem - one of the small locking levers would not click into place as it needs to do in order to lock properly. I removed both locking levers, swapped them to the opposite main attachment levers, problem solved. Now both function properly. Something machined just a thousandth off I suppose. Quality control should have caught this.

Made in the USA

by twfo185, from AL, United States Written on December 31, 2016
This is a cnc machined scope mount of exceptional quality. It does cost more than the Chinese models offered by other companies. But the price difference is not significant, once you factor in the satisfaction of two things: 1) owning a product of exceptional quality, 2) employing skilled labor here in the USA.
Without exception, none of us own a money tree. So price IS important at times. But when you can, as soon as you can, as often as you can, stretch out and buy the product made in the USA. It'll help your neighbor. It'll help you. And with very few exceptions, you will receive a better product for your dollar. I've always heard "they build them bigger in Texas." And I've found "we build them better in the USA."
Pros:
  • Easy adjustment
  • Exceptional quality
  • quick removal
Cons:
  • None

Vortex Optics ADR Cantilever Mounts Quick disconect

Excellent mounting system. Maintains accuracy when remounting. Useful to those who travel. You can secure rifle in case for check on, and carry glass with you in carry on in the cabin. Mates well with viper scopes.

Great middle-ground attachment

by John, from GA, United States Written on February 5, 2016
I picked this up to hold a Vortex Strike Eagle on an LWRC M6A3 (I know, expensive gun, decent scope. I'll upgrade eventually). I liked that it was co-branded with Vortex, just a neat feature; and if I recall, you can't buy this from Vortex directly anymore.
The mount is solid, both in terms of interface with the scope and attachment to the host weapon. I've snapped it on and off between my ARs and it seems to hold zero well. The hex screws that clamp down the optic are stable and even with the very rigid magnification ring on the Strike Eagle I don't notice any rotation in the optic when I 'zoom in'.
Quality/finish is great for the price, although not up to LaRue level.
Overall, it's a great product at the price point.
Pros:
  • Price
  • Vortex Brand
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • recreational shooting

Great Mount

by NvrenufRR, from MI, United States Written on December 8, 2015
So far i have found this to be an excellent mount, better than the DPMS and Leupold ount purchased.
Install was easy and proper torque was easy to achieve while maintaing level and centered.
The throw levers and adjustments for tension work exccellent andd even timed properly.
Provides the right amount of eye relief with my PST 1-4X on a AR platform and so far has maintained 0 over a few hundred rounds.

Solid mount.

by T-money, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on November 21, 2015
This is a great mount, well machined and grabs the rail nicely. The extended cantilever mount is long... says for scopes with 4" eye relief, but I'd only use this for scopes with long tubes. My 2.5x10 that rides in this mount is pushed back to the turrets and naked up against my buis and is still on the verge of being to far forward.

Works great!

by Buildnguns, from GA, United States Written on October 13, 2015
I bought this to use with my vortex strike eagle. Works and looks great! I like the fact that it has vortex on it to match my scope but it's made by American Defense. The qd levers work great and the added 3" of eye relief is great as well. Have had no problems what so ever and given the fact that it's AD, I don't suspect any either. As always, optics planet was a pleasure to deal with got it at a great price and shipping as fast and free lol what's not to love? If you're thinking about it, BUY IT, you won't regret it

Vortex ADR Cantilever Mount

by Jim R., Verified Owner from SC, United States Written on January 16, 2015
Extremely well made. Fit and finish are excellent. Made in the USA. The piece does what is supposed to do and does very well. Mine is mounted on a Smith & Wesson M&P 15T with a Leupold Mark 4 1.5x5 scope. Removal of the mount and scope is simple without any tools and reattachment has not required any zero adjustment. I am extremely happy with my purchase.
