Most Helpful Positive Review vortex ranger

The vortex ranger has been fun to use. I would like to see the same life time warrety like the rest of vortex products. Pros: this is east to use Cons: non found yet

Most Helpful Negative Review Just average

I tried to range a horse at aprox,3 to 5 hundred yards and it wouldnt. We were antelope hunting last week end and the farthest we could register a goat was 386. Thats average or below if you ask me Pros: compact size Cons: Capeabilitys over rated

good range finder for the price. unit is well built, small and lite. optics are clear and crisp. the adjustments are adequate without any unnecessary bells and whistles. you probably won't get a 1000 yard range with it unless you have a bright reflective target. it does well within the 600 to 800 yard range. i bought this unit mainly for the HCD ranging capability which works great. wish vortex would have used a CR123 battery instead of the smaller CR2. many of my other devices use the bigger battery.

Pros:

price size optics ranging modes

Cons:

Battery type

Solid feel but slow to acquire range

by AZRiverRunner, from AZ, United States Written on January 5, 2018

Pros: This range finder has a nice rubberized exterior and good optics. It’s solid and feels durable. The range readout’s brightness is easily adjustable for varying light conditions. Cons: this range finder is slower than my $150 range finder. It typically takes 1-2 seconds to show the distance.

feel
Adjustable brightness

Cons:

Slow to calculate Distance

by Scott Shaw, from WI, United States Written on December 25, 2017

Haven't used it a lot yet but seems to be well built and it is nice and clear. Is easy to set up and use. Easy to see the read out. I think I made a good choice buying this rangefinder and I'm happy with it so far.

Ranger 1000

by jeff, from WV, United States Written on December 18, 2017

Seems to function well. Haven't had a chance test at known ranges past 200 yds., but every range below that has been correct. Only thing, it tends to pick up brush in front of the target easily which makes somewhat difficult to range game in brushy or thick territory.

Pros:

Accurate

Cons:

too light

...plus it works great. It”s user friendly and has an easy to read display. Better than others that are $50-$100 more......... It’s a great deal and ideal for a above average level shooter. Buy for Christmas Hurry

Have had no issues with this great rangefinder. It picks up non reflective targets at 500 yards easy. Rubberized finish means that I never worry about not having a good purchase in the field. Very Happy!
