Great backcountry spotter
Used this spotter on my Alberta sheep hunt. It’s small and light which makes it packable. It has great clarity for it size.
Vortex Razor
Arrived with a cracked lens. Doesn’t affect the viewing but probably does affect the sealing characteristics. Called Vortex and while on the phone got a UPS label emailed to me. Put it in the mail and had a notification that it arrived the next day by noon. Yea that’s right they overnighted it. Amazing customer service.
Pros:
- Clear
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Spotting

solid piece
Great power in packable size. Came too late for my bow hunt this year but hoping to use it this winter for cow elk hunt.

Spotting scope
I bought this scope in order to see a target at 100 yards clearly. I can honestly say I believe I over bought. On a tripod, I can see people on their pool deck over a mile away with crystal clarity. I guess I’m just going to have to “pull the trigger” and buy a long range rifle and scope.
Pros:
- Amazing clarity, extreme distance
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Long range target shooting as well as hunting

Light weight is the game name
I was looking for a light and compact spotting scope for a while, so I was glad when Vortex finally announced the new razor HD. Now I have something more powerful than my binoculars to carry around. Quality is also very good, which was also a must. I even got a window clamp to get more use of it, while being in the car on a short stop.
