Great Optic

by ichiban11, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on October 19, 2020
I purchased the Razor HD Gen II for my Block II build. This is one high quality optic and it is built to last. I have the Aadland scope caps and throw lever installed on the Razor. I just have to get the Geissele Vortex Sopmod scope mount, and I'll be GTG.
Pros:
  • Build quality
  • Glass clarity
  • Vortex Warranty
Cons:
  • weight
  • price
Best Used for:
  • Range
  • Home Defense

Solid product

by Kenny, from CA, United States Written on December 16, 2017
Great product. The price is a little high, but it is well worth the cost. Clear glass, good daytime visible red dot, the off settings in between brightness settings are super convenient. Very durable. The color almost exactly matches my Daniel Defence M4A1 brown finish.
Pros:
  • Durable, clarity
Cons:
  • price
Best Used for:
  • Short to Medium Range

Great scope

by KC, from TX, United States Written on November 1, 2017
I have this scope in a DDV11 and it fits and looks amazing. The color match is very close if not identical. The scope is an Amazing scope. I was not sure a 1-6 would be good for much beyond 100 Tess however I would not hesitate to take it out further. You can not truly appreciate good glass until you have used it. The light transmission is above and beyond for this price range. The zero stops works great and the illuminated reticle is nice when low light situations comes into play. I wish it came with flip back lens covers and a sunshade. The fit and finish is best I have used. I like the Reticle for hold overs and is really easy to use. I also really appreciate the warranty vortex has on these units. Paying this much for a scope is kinda nerve racking. Have a company stand behind their oroducts is a real sobering thing.
Pros:
  • Clarity and light transmission
Cons:
  • price
Best Used for:
  • Any type of shooting

Awesome!!!

by Rolando, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on September 15, 2017
I got it on my rifle and it looked awesome. That next weekend I took it to the range and sighted it in. 300yds, 1 power all day. Bright, Crystal clear glass. A couple people came over to look at it and they loved it. One just bought the cheaper vortex model and wished he bought the Razor instead. Very happy so far. Looking forward to doing some training with it.
Pros:
  • clear glass
  • easy to sight in
  • power adjustment is easy
Cons:
  • Heavy
  • $1500 with mount
Best Used for:
  • CQB and Medium Range

Vortex Razor HD

by Steve, Verified Owner from WI, United States Written on August 8, 2017
Brilliant optic that should stand up to dangerous game hunting, mounted on .338 Win Mag. Shipping was fast and free. Good price when compared with other high end brands. Also have a Vortex Razor spotting scope and binocular, both perform superbly.

Well worth it.

by Keyton Brown, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on June 19, 2017
If you are thinking of purchasing this scope you already know all the benefits it promises. And in my opinion all the hype is true. This is without a doubt the clearest and most rugged scope I own. The eye box is generous and the field of view is huge. I will use this on all my future competition rifles (3 Gun) and to show off a little while shooting with friends. I also own a few Vortex Vipers and a Trijicon and they don't compare. Again, if you are considering it as a competition scope that you need Daylight bright and rugged, pull the trigger and get it. You will not be disappointed.

Marvelous short to medium range scope

by cnscharles, from NC, United States Written on April 4, 2017
Hi There:

Great all around alternative for a short to medium range scope. If you are looking to save some money. That is, a generalist type approach to a red dot and low power on a medium range scope then this is it. Optics are better than a competing Sig Tango, Bushnell 6500...I like the features on the Sig but find the view on a Sig Tango to be slightly darker. The Leapold is nice too but the small turrets were a no go. No matter what scope you buy there are going to be a lack of features that force you into a Kentucky windage situation. So if you like a nice clear reticle (second focal plane scope), alternative to a Red dot. Then go with the Vortex. I like Vortex, great customer service AND AN AMERICAN COMPANY.

Other concerns:

I think if I would buy the Vortex AMG next. I love shooting at 10x which seems to work for my eyes the best. The other problem if you do not know and keep up with the performance level of your barrel and know the ballistics of what round you are shooting, then what is the point? Second focal plane reticle big clear glass is all you need.
