Vortex Talon
Living in and glassing Missouri River Breaks in NE Montana is 1 of the best places to find out how well an optic preforms. The Talon 10x42 preformed flawlessly with excellent clarity and low light performance. The Talons have sold me on the Vortex line of binoculars.
Pros: Clarity, Low Light Operations
Cons: Protective covers need to be attached to the objective side of the binoculars
Vortex Talon HD 10x42 binoculars
Bought for my wife for Christmas. Looks and feels like my son's $2000.+ Swarovski EL 10x42s. Have compared side by side to my Zeiss Victory 10x42s at dusk, while hunting, with very difference in brightness being noted. Clarity was also very good. They seem a tad bit heavier than the Zeiss and Swarovski's. I did notice that the focus ring had a very slight "gritty" feel that is more of an annoyance than a functional issue. The eye cups and lens covers fit well and function nicely. The accompanying strap and case are well made and don't seem like a cheep afterthought. Not sure if these are being discontinued as they are not listed on Vortex's website. Still comes with Vortex's unconditional lifetime warranty. Would recommend as a very good choice of hunting binocular for someone who wants quality without breaking the bank.

I compared several; brands at field @stream in Erie pa I liked the vortex crossfire bought it, but when the
TALON HD 10-42 went on sale the next day I really liked them better, and exchanged the crossfire for the talon hd 10-42. FOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE They are as clear as others costing twice as much. plus the best no cost warranty, not an 800 number to haggle.

Vortex Optics Talon HD 10x42 Roof Prism Binocular TLN-4210-HD
I decided to try the Vortex Talon 10x42 as a result of using a number of Vortex scopes and being extremely satisfied with the clarity especially for the prices asked vs. numerous other similar priced scopes I'd tried.
My 10x42's arrived from Optics Planet here in Australia within a week and a half, fantastic turn around in my opinion.
Apart from an avid hunter I also do a lot of bird watching and it's difficult especially with the smaller birds to get a good look at them in detail with anything but a pair of high end European optics with a prohibitive price tag.
Well the Talon's blew me away, so sharp and clear, I can't put them down.

Vortex Talon HD 10x42 Roof Prism Binocular
After significant research and review...I found the Vortex line of optics to be the best overall choice for my needs on an upcoming elk hunt. I subscribed to the "buy the best you can afford" and decided the Talon HD product, while not the top of the line, still best fit the need replacing the Bushnells that I have used in past years. I called the factory and the advice from the reps was welcoming and straight to the point of my questions. Very happy so far...by far the clearest optics I have owned and by comparison...the best value for me. Factory warranty is top shelf. Optics Planet had the best price.
Pros:
- Price, performance and warranty
- Price performance quality
Cons:
- None for my uses of product.
Best Used for:
- hunting and shooting

Vortex Talon HD 10x42
Chose the Talon over the more expensive Viper HDs as I couldn't tell the difference between them. The FOV is better with these. Awesome for glassing the tops here in the North Island of NZ. Far superior to my old pair of Zeiss. Best value for money in this price bracket IMO.
Pros: Excellent glass, superb definition
Cons: Weight but not unusual in this bracket.

Vortex Talon 10x42
If you can go to a store where you can pick up and compare them against other brands. If you do you will order a set. What you get for the money is better than anything remotely close in cost. If fact you could spend an extra grand and still not get something as good.
Pros: Crisp, and very clear
