Great Product
Made my trips to the range so much better. Prior to getting this scope I could only take a few shots and then wait for the range to go cold so I could walk down range to see my hits. I can now see .223 hits at 200 yards. So happy with this purchase I'm planning on getting one of their rifle scopes.

Not balanced
This scope has a fatal flaw in my opinion. It is quite surprising to me that it has never been mentioned by any other reviewer. The tripod mount is forward of the focusing ring, which places it way forward of the balance point. In other words, if you don’t tighten the tilt screw on your tilt and pan...

Viper Spotting Scope
This is a very nice spotting scope with well made optical glass. I’ve been testing it and am impressed with the brightness and clarity of the images. All the features seem to function well. Very nice looking to boot. It will be an asset for birding in wetlands and along the coast.

Spotting scope
After extensive research I purchased this 15-45 viper scope and it is exactly what it claims to be!! Very clear with no edge fog. Not as powerful as some but doing a great job for what I bought it for which is shooting 500 yards and in.

Vortex Viper HD 15x45-65 = Value
Great value for the performance. Focus ring is smooth and tensioned just right. Clarity is good edge to edge. Neoprene cover is a nice bonus for some added protection in the pack. Great quality and performance for the working mans priced optic. Would recommend.

Bang for the Buck
This spotter IMO is an excellent choice. You don't need to break the bank for a good quality optic. The scope has good clarity, range, and detachable eyepiece. I use a Swiss Arca plate which this spotter is designed for. The lens and eyepiece covers, along with the spotter cover, are very durable. The way you can rotate the body of the scope from left to right is very handy especially on a Ball Head. The sun screen is attached. The spotter is packable. I have had this spotter for a few years now and I feel there is no need for an upgrade, it fits my program. Like I said a Good Bang for the Buck.
Pros:
- Good quality spotter
Cons:
- Weight 3.68 OZ
Best Used for:
- Multi use

Great scope
I’ve enjoyed this thing since the moment I received it. Great quality of glass and base. The eyecup covers were a great added feature of protection, along with the skin cover. The only downside I can find with the scope is the weight. It is a little on the heavy side, but I will always make sure I have this in my pack.

Viper Optics and Outstanding Value
Had purchased a Viper 20X60X85 which was TOO much for Texas Brush country and big and heavy enough to discourage putting it in a hunting pack.
This 14X45X65 is everything I was looking for to qualify bucks in my 250yd to 100 yd typical kill zone.
Very well made and typical Vortex quality

Very Good - I give it a B+
The Viper is a very good mid-price, mid-range spotting scope. When used to locate hits on paper targets it's excellent at 100 yards, good at 200 yards, and just adequate for large caliber purposes at 300 yards.
The HD glass is quite good; crisp and bright images.
The focus ring works well (using a very stable base/tripod helps a lot).
The ability to easily rotate the scope around its mounting point/base is actually a useful feature.
The limiting attributes are, naturally, it's max 45x magnification and 65mm objective.

Great Glass!
If you are looking for an excellent spotting scope that is easy to adjust then look no further. Glass is very good and reading mirage is no problem. I like the adjustments that allow the user to set it up the way they like. Simple and easy to use. The warranty is unbelievable so you know you're not wasting any money if it breaks. Vortex makes a great spotter and you can cleary spot hits on steel at 1200yds with this, and probably much farther than that.
Pros:
- Clear, bright and simple to uae
Cons:
- No reticle
Best Used for:
- PRS, ELR, Hunting and bird watching

Vortex Viper HD. 15-45x65mm
I had a compact leupold spotting scope that was great for packing, wanted to gain a little more magnification! So far I am pleased with the viper 15-45x65mm! Very crisp clean sight picture. Easy to get on target and focus. The added protective sleeve that vortex includes is an added bonus that will come in very useful!
Pros:
- Easy to focus, clean and sharp picture
Cons:
- little heavy

Vortex Viper
Great spotting scope, a good upgrade from my old redfield. Provides a clear image at all power ranges with the fine tuned barrel adjustment. Soft case is functional to help keep lenses clean, as its always part of the scope. would recommend this over an lower end models from other manufacturers.
