"looks" good. - Vortex Viper PST Gen II 3-15x44mm Rifle Scope, 30mm Tube ,First Focal Plane (FFP)

I had only owned one scope, a very old economy model from decades ago. After finishing and testing my scratch built AR10 in 308, I decided it was time to adorn it with a moderen good quality scope. I read reviews, watched videos, searched forums, and the Vortex Viper PST kept coming up as an overachiever for the money paid. I dont think it will ever be used much over 500 yards, so the medium range 3 x 15 version seemed like a good choice and is smaller and ligher than its big brother.the 5 x 25. I bought the Vortex QD mount to go with the scope.
Stunning clarity, all the adjustments you could want, built well. Some of the controls are a bit stiffer than I would like. The reticle illumination control is very stiff. I did go with the 1st focal plane, nice. Love the reticle. Its a lot of money, over a grand for the scope plus mount, but I am very happy and glad I did it.
